I have nothing but beautiful things to say about St. Dominic's Catholic Church and the Dominican Priests there. While I had lived in Belsize Park for nearly 6 years, it wasn't until December of 2020 (4 years after moving to the area) that I found this church. In fact, it had been even longer since I attended mass regularly before settling on this parish. Not because I lost my faith, but I was busy working and at the weekends really rested. I also truthfully didn't see much point in attending mass. For me, in the past it offered no value and was a chore. But St. Dominics and the priests there changed that thinking entirely for me. I reached out initially to ask about the process for which my now husband and I could get married. Our wedding was held at a church in NY, USA but to be married in the Catholic Church required us to complete 'pre cana' marriage prep and also submit permission from our parish church to our marriage church to allow them to hold the ceremony and marry us. A lot of 'to do's but St. Dominics made it fun and easy. Iroma the parish secretary was super informative, communicative and helpful. She walked us through the paperwork required and helped connect us to Father Lawrence. I can't say enough glowing things about Father Lawrence. Kind, informative, relatable and welcoming - he showed us what having a community within the church and mass is really all about. He even welcomed our fur baby Gracie who attended each pre cana session with us, and also joins us for mass every Sunday. I never thought I would see the day where a well behaved dog was allowed at church, but like I said - St. Dominics is special. Sermons by Father Lawrence, and all the other priests frankly are relevant, thoughtful and thought provoking. And his leadership and interior design talents are second to none! Just take a look at the gorgeous gold work he's had redone behind the alter, the men and women's bathroom, the common room, or the kitchen in the great hall open to parishioners on Sunday after mass for coffee and tea. They're beautiful! And all designed by Father Lawrence. He even introduced us to another couple also getting married around the same time we were and who shared our same dynamic (American, British and dog owners ;) So needless to say, attending mass on Sunday for me now is a part of my routine, and helps ground me. I am reminded of what being a Catholic truly means and am grateful to Father Lawrence, the other clergymen and St. Dominics for being there for me in more ways than one these past two years. Though I am moving back to the US later this year, St. Dominics will forever hold a special place in my heart. If new to the area, or simply like me - a Catholic who lost their way a bit - give St. Dominics a try. You won't be...

The Shrine is open late afternoon to evening during the week.
Staffed by the Dominicans founded by St Dominic. The Rosary is a central element of their charism and the shrine has 15 side chapels for each of the original 15 mysteries. The church has been consecrated and its marks alternate with the stations of the cross. A WWI memorial is present at the rear of the shrine. The shrine contains a piller from the Dominican priory in the city of London suppressed during Henry viii dissolution of the monastries 1538. The shrine is a beautiful church worth visiting and is a place of calm in...
Read moreSt Dominic's Priory a Grade II listed building is simply magnificent. It is so pure, perfect and peaceful. Everything is done thoughtfully, by the Dominican Friars and Priests. I love it when I see out of the corner of my eye a Dominican Friar walking slowly and quietly along the aisle or standing quietly at the back of the Church, in contemplation and prayer. It is a calming sight. I have found my Catholic Church in the hustle and bustle of London where I can worship, truly worship in complete peace of mind. Everything I need spiritually is here - it is heaven on earth. Thank you to "Radio Maria" for spreading the Catholic...
