This place is just as great as the rest of the chain of these restaurants. I’ve only seen and been to them throughout Texas and am unsure if there are locations outside of Texas. If they were to expand beyond I’m sure they’d be successful as a business and franchise. I haven’t been disappointed yet.
Their prices are reasonable for the portions you get. And luckily despite this COVID-19 Pandemic they have opened up shop taking the necessary safety precautions with social distancing and all.
Ordered was the Habañero Pork Belly Benny, which actually wasn’t all too spicy 🥵. Which I’m glad, because I’m not a huge fan of ridiculously spicy 🌶 food. Especially to the point when you can’t tell whether you’re eating a tortilla or a napkin, 🤷🏻♂️. If it gets to that point, it’s pointless in my opinion, not to mention the literally killing off of actual taste buds that don’t grow back. But good news for those that do lose their taste buds, everything will taste good. So whether you go to a 3 Michelin Starred restaurant or Denny’s, it’ll be the same and won’t disappoint, lol.
I get into debates all the time and know it to be true because I have a family member that has an obscene amount of taste buds born that way and is practically a sommelier not just with wine 🍷 but with everything. So, unfortunately I know all too much about taste. There goes a tangent of mine 🤷🏻♂️.
The Pineapple 🍍 Upside Down Pancakes 🥞 were great. If I just had an omelette or something also, and didn’t have the Habañero Pork Belly Benny, I’d be tempted to make my very own ultimate McGriddle pancake omelette sandwich.
The Orange 🍊 Defense Up Cold Pressed Juice was fresh and very good as well.
The Bacon 🥓 But Different was also good and is know for its blend of spices and was actually spicier than my Habañero Pork Belly Benny. It has cayenne, is rubbed with brown sugar, chili flakes, and drizzled with black pepper maple. If they actually had pork belly or very thick bacon, I’d be willing...
Read moreThis was my 2nd Snooze A.M. experience. We walked in and were seated immediately. The server came and asked for our drink orders. My companion had coffee, and I had Ceylon tea. There were choices for tea. Yeah! I asked that the water be extra hot. It wasn't. Tepid would be more like it. Coffee was hot. I sent it back after being told the only way they could warm it would be by warming the cup 1st. I requested not to be charged for it. I wasn't. My companion had the Huevos Tostadas. It was excellent. We shared the Bacon But Different. While it was quite tasty, it would have been moreso had it been crispy crispy crispy. It was limpy, wimpy, limpy. I had the Classic with pulled pork and substituted grits for hash browns with an English muffin. The eggs were over easy, as ordered. That's good. The pulled pork was a pork roast that had been stuffed with garlic and shredded. It was good, but if you're looking for classic pulled pork with that apple cider taste, this is not it. The grits were quite tasty on 1st bite. But then I got this powdery texture, which was not good to me. I asked the Key, our server, (She was GREAT! )what was in it. She told me parmesan and some other cheese and it had been cooked in milk. All of that would have been fantastic if not for the powdery texture, which I couldn't get past. Love the retro decor, and the flatware looked good and felt substantial in my hand. Overall, it was a good experience thanks to Key and her excellent service and winning attitude. Keep the smiles coming Key....
Read moreI'm a huge brunch monger and I feel sad that we were not as thrilled with this popular brunch spot as we thought we'd be.
First off, not a fan of Yelp waitlists - Yelp gave us an incorrect estimate of when our table would be ready and our table was ready 5m before we arrived and therefore, we lost our place in line incurring a 15m wait. Not the end of the world but a bit sad considering the restaurant was only half full if not less, but unfortunately they were down to only 2 servers who were braving the entire dining hall all by themselves (we were about 1.5hrs before closing at that time).
Nevertheless, we were seated and were helped after another 15m, understandably because they were running on fumes at this point. But then our server did stop by, he was awesome from the get go. Food arrived another 15m later, at which point we were ready to eat the silverware :-D
I ordered a flight of pancakes with the Hawaiian Monkey (special), strawberry shortcake and blueberry danish, while hubby ordered the Chile Verde Benedict. We also got a chai latte. The pancakes were like clouds, and the Hawaiian Monkey was finger licking, however both the blueberry and strawberry pancakes lacked the punch that I expect a good coulis to have. The benny was small and bland sadly, but the hash wasn't bad at all though. The Chai Latte tasted like mild coffee with no Chai spiced flavor.
So our takeaway - fantastic staff, kudos to the hard work they do. The food however lacked flavor...
