O.M.G, where do I begin!! If i could give them 10 stars, it would be absolutely deserved. This was a truly phenomenal experience, as two chefs me and my wife were more than delighted. For starters, we had an Amazing waiter. Jayden approached our table with a big beautiful smile and knew the menu very well. We asked for recommendations, and he gave the most amazing descriptions of his favorite dishes as well as the most popular dishes. We chose two of his faves, and we were NOT disappointed. Literally every bite was a party in our mouths. We had the privilege of enjoying the deviled eggs that were fried to perfection, and the filling was whipped greatness topped with crispy bacon candy. They were served on a beautifully dressed chopped salad that complimented the eggs wonderfully. Next, we tried the cheddar bacon biscuits. They were made from scratch, fresh out of the oven served with a whipped honey butter that was the perfect completion to these mouth-watering biscuits. Then came our two main courses, the Poblano Pork and the Ribeye burger. The pork was plentiful, extra tender, drizzled with a creamy chimichurri sauce, super juicy, full of flavor, and just melted in our mouths. It sat on top of a fluffy flavor filled bed of rice and was accompanied by the best blue corn cake I have EVER tasted in my life. It was topped with crumbled feta cheese that was truly a chefs kiss. The Ribeye was cooked with tons of flavor and lots of love, thinly sliced and placed on a smoky, tender, delectable, extremely juicy burger with a cheese pull out of this world. The fries were fried in the cleanest oil, and they were extra crispy on the outside and creamy goodness in the middle. Thee absolute French fry we have had in Dallas 😋 Just when we thought we had tasted it all they brought out dessert and my my my what a wonderful treat it was!! We enjoyed the warm butter cake with vanilla bean ice cream and little kisses of mint surrounded by a delicious strawberry compote. The ice cream tasted like it was freshly churned with the freshest vanilla beans grown in heavens garden. Then there was the butter cake omg it had a crunchy candy exterior with a pillowy soft interior full of real butter flavor and 100 ounces of pure Love and a light brown sugar vanilla finish.
Just when we thought Addison couldn't offer us any more fantastic food ventures. We stumbled upon The Lazy Dog and had one of the most memorable, phenomenal, soulful meals we could have ever imagined sitting down to. And we didn't even have to cook it ourselves. We have already alerted some of our friends and family about this experience and have plans to return next weekend. Thank you again, Lazy Dog. For a fantastic first experience, it was more than we could have asked for!!! P.S. somebody go give Jayden and Ashley a raise, a vacation, brownie points, free meals, heck even a party because they were the cherry on top for us!!! Now RUUUUUN don't walk and go get your exquisite experience at the Lazy Dog. Oh, and feel free to bring your fur babies with you because they are also welcome on the patio and have their own menu as...
Read moreWent in on a Saturday afternoon, and there was no wait and plenty of seating. There were other tables, but definitely a nice time of day if you like to avoid the crowds and excessive noise. The atmosphere was welcoming-all of the employees acknowledged us and spoke. They quickly let us know we could sit wherever we’d like (no awkward standing around wondering if we were supposed to wait to be seated.)
All the dog pictures make it hard not to smile!
Our server was great. Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. She proactively explained that they are usually able to modify dishes upon request, and offered recommendations. She delivered water immediately and had drinks back in no time.
One of us got a Watermelon Margarita, and one of us got the Rum Barrel Punch. The margarita was refreshing and light tasting, and the tajin chamoy rim was a nice contrast that complemented the drink flavors.
The rum punch ended up not being what I had hoped. I suspect many will love it because the taste is not your typical rum punch, so it’s interesting. I couldn’t immediately decide what bothered me about it, and I kept tasting it, and letting it linger on my tastebuds to try to figure out if the taste was just unusual and I needed to let it grow on me, or if I just didn’t care for it. I decided that the black strap was just too overpowering for me. I’m not a huge molasses fan, and the taste was stronger than I expected. Lovers of molasses and licorice will probably find the drink amazing, but the taste was overpoweringly sweet to me. I enjoyed the other tastes in it, and wanted to like it, but handed it off because I couldn’t tolerate more than half of it.
We ordered burgers, one of us got the bison burger and the other the bacon blue cheese burger, and went with most basic side, lol, French fries!
They were cooked to order perfectly, tasted great, and portions were large. The fries were hot, crunchy, and fresh as well.
A selection of bottled sauces arrived with the burgers, and the server took a minute to let us know what each one was (not labeled.) The burgers didn’t really need sauce, nor did the fries, but we tasted them, and they were good for those who might like to add something extra.
Ambience was chill and the late afternoon vibe was perfect for a relaxed meal and chat.
Server checked in on us, but didn’t hover, and offered to go boxing when she saw we had food left.
Will definitely return, and maybe bring my...
Read moreThis was the second time I have been to Lazy Dog. The first time, the food was just fine and no issues at all (we sat in the bar area at a high top.) If you sign up for their mailing list (The Gossip Hound you receive a voucher for a free appetizer. Awesome!) This time, I brought one of my dogs to check out the dog friendly patio. I have never taken either of my dogs out to eat so since they boast about being very dog friendly, I was super excited! I chose to bring my chihuahua (7 pounds, lap dog, not a yip yapper or anything like that.) Off we go! Shortly after we arrived, before we were greeted by our server, a manager came up to me and said that although they are dog friendly, dogs were not allowed to sit on laps of patrons and had to be on the ground. He offered to bring over a bowl of water for my pup. OK. Fine. This is something I wished I would have known before hand. I would have likely not brought him along. I am assuming that it may be a violation of health code to have a dog in someone's lap due to hair, etc. I get it. However, I have previously worked in the service industry (server) and I have worked in a few dog friendly establishments and I wasn't aware of that. I have even had the pleasure of waiting on a lady once who brought her cat in a stroller, sat him in a chair at the table, ordered him a real human entree, which he ate off the plate! I digress, but, I won't be bringing my dogs next time I visit. The whole time I was more concerned with wrangling my dog on a leash under the table and him begging to get in my lap. Maybe dog friendly dining just isn't the most enjoyable for my puppy. The food was good! This was the 2nd time getting the Poke Jar appetizer and it is delicious! My boyfriend got the Bahama Chicken and he enjoyed it as well. A big plus for this place is they have some great craft beers on tap. Our server, Grant, was excellent and helpful. We will be back, just not with our...
