(Trigger warning: I have never left a 1-star review in my life...if you are thinking about going here for a get together or event read this) I'm giving one star for our server. He was awesome. Attentive, food was good, atmosphere is on point. All the rest of the stars go down the drain with the manager. I never caught his name because in his complete and total lack of customer service he never mentioned it. We came here with family who had not seen in each other in years on Saturday night. My uncle ordered about 600 worth of food and wine. As we were finishing dessert the manager (short hair, vest) walked up, half heartedly asked if we enjoyed our meal - and then said to the youngest person at the table we would need to leave to accommodate other reservations. We hadn't even paid the bill or finished dessert. Naturally it upset my Uncle, so when my Aunt went to complain - rather than apologizing and explaining the situation...he fought fire with fire and completely disrespected my 60 year old Aunt. Of course that led to my Uncle getting even more upset and eventually ruined the end of the night. Whoever runs this place needs to remind management in the end of the day their job is to SERVE the customer. If you overbooked reservations and don't have the table volume to serve your next patrons use some situational awareness in the moment and at leas be POLITE! Even if it's totally fake, how low IQ do you have to be to be rude to your customers? Explain the situation to both parties, respectfully, and clearly. This isn't Catch, or Nobu. It's Neighborhood Services in Addison. It might be worth signing that manager up for an entry level business communications class at Brookhaven to prevent this from happening again. That said I learned not to act the way he did from a part time job at Blue Goose my sophomore year of High School. His behavior was an embarrassment to the brand. I plan on calling corporate as well, because my Aunt & Uncle honestly deserve a refund after the way things transpired on Saturday. So all in all service great, food awesome, experience mutes all that because of bad leadership. Do...
Read moreI always really liked most everything about this place, it’s a shame that the kitchen shows complete disregard for customers if the order is to go and some of the front of the house are ridiculous morons. I used to love getting the London broil steak which is served thinly sliced (about a half inch) every time I’ve ordered it there it has come out how I asked (medium). If I order it to go, about 25% of the time, I get home and it is cooked well done, which is hard to excuse since they cut it into about 9 thin strips before letting me leave with it. When I ordered it again last week and asked the bartender to check the temp before bringing it out (because it was to-go) the bartender said “oh we’ve had problems with that steak to go, it continues to cook on the way home and 3 times last week ppl called to complain it was well done. I said “well its sliced up when you box it, how is it continuing to cook??” (I was amazed they were buying this B.S. from the kitchen who unquestionably sees these steaks are well done when they slice them up, plus if you understand why a steak would continue to cook after removed from heat, I would think you would understand why a steak that has been cut into thin strips will not). The bartender looked at me, rolled his eyes and said “its sitting in a hot to go box, babe” and walked off. Maybe you’re thinking “oh I didn’t realize the bartender was her boyfriend, or dad”. Nope! He’s just some moron that had the nerve to some something fantastically stupid while calling me “babe” in a patronizing way like he is “explaining how steak works” to a child. Anyway, after it came out, I showed him the steak, then I put it back, had another drink and sat for a half hour to show him what should be obvious, if it is medium when they slice it, it would be medium 30 min later even sitting in a to go box. The kitchen serves out to go orders however they come up if your order is to go, they do it after apparently (three times that week just from ppl that bothered to call) and the manager is an idiot who doesn’t believe customers and the bartender is a...
Read moreWe have been here before and it's usually very good. This night, not at all. 6:00 reservation-early as we had to be elsewhere later. The service was rushed most of the evening. We felt like we were in Applebee's where people come in, order, eat and leave immediately. The server came back time after time to get entree orders when we had barely even received our drinks. I had to ask about the pasta special was not offered initially. We received our entrees before we were even done with the appetizers. That is why you wait to take entree orders!! However, wine and water glasses sat empty despite the rush to get the food out.No table etiquette whatsoever. Plates were cleared before everyone at the table was done eating. My napkin was removed while there were still glasses on the table. I guess i use my shirt to wipe my mouth or if there were a spill. Again, this is not a casual dining restaurant. If IO'm spending over $200 for 2 people I expect the service to reflect that. The appetizers (tortilla soup and Caesar salad) were very good- but we were unable to finish them as the entrees came out so quickly due to the rush to get them ordered. My wife go the scallop special which she said was great. My London broil steak frite was ridiculously salty, as were the brussel sprout side. The beef, which i requested warm red center came out cool red. And the fries had so much salt as to make them almost inedible. Do yourself a favor and head to Chamberlain's or Al Biernat's where the service and food...
