Our family of 10 had an unforgettable private tour with Sitka Zodiac Adventures, split between two boats, and it was truly a highlight of our trip. Andy and his daughter Navy were fantastic guides—knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive to everyone in our group. Andy’s wife and son Cooper also went above and beyond, helping us before and after the tour, which made the whole experience seamless and personal.
We were lucky to witness a fishing boat hauling in a net filled with thousands of salmon—an incredible sight that was both educational and awe-inspiring. Along the way, we enjoyed stunning views and got to see amazing wildlife up close. What we really appreciated was getting away from the busy cruise ship crowds; the tour conveniently started right where the free cruise shuttle dropped us off, making logistics super easy.
A quick tip: be sure to book your cruise shuttle reservation ahead of time to make sure you get there on time and don’t miss the start of the tour.
This small family business operates with real professionalism—everything felt safe and well-organized. Driving the Zodiac boats ourselves was such a thrill, and all the boats and equipment were in excellent condition. If you’re visiting Sitka and want a fun, authentic, and personal adventure, Sitka Zodiac Adventures is the perfect choice. We can’t recommend...
Read moreA couple weeks ago we had the absolute pleasure of taking this zodiac tour around Sitka. I can honestly say this was the highlight of our trip. We spent a lot of times on boats during our Alaskan adventure but this one clearly stands out for two reasons.
First, since you get to pilot your own zodiac you are actively engaged in the tour rather than just 1 of 100 on another over packed craft.
Second, the kind and genuine personality of the owner and his son make it feel like it’s just your old friend giving you a tour of his hometown. I can honestly say I left the tour feeling that if I lived on Sitka we would be great friends.
On a side note my new friend, I have since had the opportunity to watch “Cloak and Dagger” and I will say you were right. It holds up as a great eighties movie. Also, the sea plane tour of Denali we were supposed take a few days later got canceled due to weather. That means your tour was the very best tour we got to take!!! You’re still number one!!!
I would recommend this tour to anyone who goes to Sitka. If we have the opportunity to return there someday I will definitely be booking another tour.
Thank for an...
Read moreWe enjoyed this excursion so much. Andy was well prepared for us with state of the art waterproof (Gortex)pants and jackets, gloves and hats if we wanted. It was nice to drive our won boat but the narration from Andy was excellent. He had facts, history, and just general information that made us feel by the end of the tour that we understood Sitka. One of the highlights I have to say besides Andy's great personality was his son Cooper. Being a teacher today you don't always get to see the values of a great family that works together. Cooper was just as knowledgeable as Andy- just in different ways. He taught us about the starfish and even picked some up for us to see and hold but was also very so helpful with the boating, signals, tethering us together, parking the boats, etc. To end our wonderful experience, Bree, Andy's wife made delicious brownies and hot chocolate for us! YUM! Highly suggest this...
