I would give zero stars if I could. My husband and I are so exhausted by the exchange that has been going on for the last two months that I barely care enough to write this. My husband had a consultation with Victor back in August for a custom suit that he needed by the last weekend of October. His wedding suit, to be more specific. He had excellent treatment in store, and we were both very excited about the finished product and were told it would be done a few weeks before the wedding. Well, the second week of October rolls around. We don't hear from Victor. My husband calls. Victor says he will call him back. Nearly a whole other week passes. Both my husband and I started calling every day, leaving messages, just trying to figure out where the $3000 dollar suit we purchased is. Finally, he answers the phone, about 10 days out from the wedding, and says, "The reason he didn't call us back was because he didn't know where the suit was." Folks... I'm not going to claim to work in high-end retail, but I've worked enough customer service jobs to know that this is not an acceptable answer for why you aren't giving your customers the information they need. Apparently, part of it was somewhere in New York because he had to get some license or certificate to import the fabric that was used. It becomes increasingly clear by the week of our wedding that this suit will not be here in time. He talks about shipping it to our venue, which we both know won't happen in time. My husband had to go to Nordstrom and spend another $2000 on another suit which was wonderfully tailored in time for our wedding. If you've been smart enough to look past the first few positive reviews or look on other sites, you will see a theme of people struggling to get their money back for similar situations. The topic of a refund barely came up when my husband finally got him on the phone. Again, $3000 for a product that was never delivered. He was also given the option to still keep the suit if he liked it when it arrived. At the time, he probably would have been fine with that. But that was a conversation that happened almost two months ago now, and we still haven't heard back about whether or not the suit has even made it into the store. My husband left another voicemail at the store last week. I think you can guess what the response has been. I would encourage you to think critically about what you are looking for, how much you want to spend, and how much time you have. You will feel great in the store, but you may not feel so great when your special event rolls around and you are being ghosted after spending thousands of dollars. Do not buy from this store if you value your...
Read moreWhen I was looking for a suit for my weddings I knew exactly what type of suit I wanted. First I looked at some stores in the DC area and ran into a few problems. One place couldn't do the three piece suit I wanted done, and the other place just wasn't very helpful. Evidently I must have looked like the type of person that doesn't have the money to buy a nice suit. Many other stores in the DC area only sell the DC uniform (blue, charcoal, or black suits) and didn't have the color options and variety I was looking for. So running out of time and options I came to Yelp and looked outside the immediate DC area. That's when I found Dash's. I decided I'd give it a shot and called and Victor agreed to meet with me that day immediately even though I didn't have an appointment.
The shop is small and homey and always has a selection of good music playing. Victory and Howard were both very helpful. However, I had a short time line to get the suit since it was late July and the wedding was in September (the suit shop in Italy take a few weeks off in August). Victor assured me that he could pull it off and get the suit to me on time. I wasn't completely sure but with his assurances and because the suits were so nice I relented and trusted him despite some anxiety that I wouldn't have a suit. As time when on the got more and more nervous, but the Wednesday before my wedding the suit arrived. We did a quick fitting and the next day I went back and picked up the suit with a few days to spare.
Everything was done exactly as I wanted. The suit was brilliant and many of the guests remarked on the quality and on how well it fit. I can't recommend Dash's enough. If you want a great suit and if you want to be treated like a valuable customer, then go to Dash's. I have bought suits at plenty of other stores i.e. Jos A Bank, Macy's, etc. and none of them compare. From now on I will be buying my suits...
Read moreI bought a pair of suits from Dash's when I first moved to the DC area almost five years ago. I was lucky enough to find his shop during one of the semi-annual trunk shows and had an amazing experience being fitted and picking out fabrics with Victor (of Dash's) and Andrea (of Luigi Bianchi). I can easily say that this experience should be on every man's bucket list. When the suits came in five weeks later, they fit perfectly in every way, and I was out the door looking like a million dollars.
Those suits have earned me countless compliments over the years. Regretfully, I had moved away from the DC area, so a couple of years ago instead of going back to Dash's, I cashed in some credit card points for a gift cards to Brooks Brothers to get an additional suit made. Big mistake. The suits did not fit as well, the service was not the same experience as with Victor, the suits had to be brought back and fixed for poor stitching......and to top it all off, the Brooks Brothers suits were more expensive than the Luigi Bianchi suits from Dash.
So, two weeks ago at a wedding, my wife noticed some threadbare in one of my Luigi Bianchi suits and suggested it needed replacing. After almost five years of regular wear, it had finally shown a bit of age. Instead of making the same mistake again, I immediately called Victor and scheduled a fitting and made a special trip down to DC to be fitted. Not only was the service still incredible and the price still better than Brooks Brothers.......Victor insisted on seeing if he could fix the threadbare on the old suit, and offered to tailor both of the suits I purchased five years ago to account for the "happily married weight' I had put on over that time.
The suits are phenomenal. The service is extraordinary. And the value is worth...
