Card Addiction — a trading card store that stretches across the back of Frank and Sons’ massive convention hall, and offers the quality, in-depth inventory worthy of so much space — is something of a hidden gem, given the dozens of eye-popping booths that precede it. Trust me — if you’re looking for rare and unopened Lorcana, Yugioh, or Magic: The Gathering sets or pristine single cards, head to Card Addiction before buying overpriced or less-than-mint chase cards elsewhere. Owner Kevin is warm and convivial, presenting fair prices and open to reasonable offers — but Cameron, who can be easy to miss due to his quiet demeanor, is your guide to finding exactly what you want (whether you’re buying or selling), knowing who to talk to, and even providing introductions / personally connecting you to the place, person, or — ultimately — card you need.
Cameron personally “sacrificed” a rare special illustration Vulpix card in gem mint condition — one he had initially intended for his own collection — when I inquired specifically about the card and shared my passion for that Pokemon. He’s a friendly, smart, trustworthy, and generous dude — one with an encyclopedic knowledge of Pokemon cards dating back decades, but who’s more than willing to go above and beyond for any trading card enthusiast desperately looking to complete their collection, purchase something super specific and special, or trying to offload cards when life happens and you need a cash injection.
Cannot recommend Card Addiction — or Cameron’s guidance —...
Read moreI honestly loved this place. It's a decent place to sit and play the games. However I do have to say in the few years I've been visiting the shop on, and off the service seems to fluctuate between good enough, to surprisingly bad (in the sense youd think they would care more). I by no means say the service is horid but underwhelming. New product prices are understandable (at least for yugioh), but it's not much different from other places. The most egregious thing in this shop is the buy and sell prices for this shop. My main problem is the minimum single buy price, and the 25-35%% sell price for customers. While minimum buy price for specific rarities makes sense on the surface, there are many nuances that get ignored. Which is why many other shops at the very least sell based on the literal market price/demand. Why would you go here knowing there are better options that won't charge you a premium for a card that could in reality be worth less than a dollar. My issues with sell price is simple. Even for cards that aren't some kind of flash in the pan they will short cut you on the prices. Over the years it's honestly gotten worse. I recommend trading with other customers instead of selling your cards here. As the other players here are surprisingly nice.
Tldr: Underwhelming service, ok product prices, buy, and sell prices for singles are terrible.
Final comment: I get it's a business, but after seeing greener, and greener pastures this place is...
Read moreIf I could give no stars, I would. This storefront is good enough to be passable as “not bad” when it comes to customer service and selection. I haven’t had a bad experience with anyone there, but at Frank And Sons is a completely different story. DONT GO TO THEIR VENDOR STALK AT FRANK AND SONS. It’s on the end of the back wall of shops on the right hand side. You will be overcharged by 60% of Market Prices of Magic, Pokémon and any other TCG they sell. And if you try to speak with the main guy there, an older Asian gentleman, you will be berated and talked down to like you don’t know how to google prices. He has the worst attitude towards his customers and acts like he is the best shop in that place. I will continue to make sure anyone who asks for a recommendation for a shop, that I won’t ONLY not bring them up but I will name them and and point out that gentleman by name and make sure they know his attitude. Even his neighbors next to his stall know about his attitude and don’t...
