Worst experience of my life. I was quoted 200-250 but was told she couldnāt imagine it being more than 200. I put $200 on my budget (this is already way more than I pay with my regular girl) and I had longer hair. I told her I wanted the whole head lightened and the roots brought up. She said she was gonna leave some pieces and I again said I wanted the whole thing like I previously had done. I then got confused at what she was saying but I had showed a picture on my phone and we seemed to be on the same page. Midway through I was told that it was going to be a bit more and asked if I wanted to continue⦠I had half my head with bleach?? What do I say no and walk out like that?? At the end I went to pay and with the lowest tip I could add my total was $420!!!!! This is not okay or reasonable AT ALL. I would have never went there if they were honest about pricing. I felt like it was a trap. I have many friends who do hair who could not believe I was charged that much nd how bad it looks. Not to mention I did not get what I asked for and my hair cut very short. On top of all of that they had done a test strand and cut a chunk out of the top of my head (pictures posted) when talking with JB I am shocked at how terrible she was. I explained to her as a single mom it was not okay for them to quote me one price and charge way more. She responded that my financial issues were not her problem and acted like I was lying about being quoted. Then said that my hair was so much because I demanded the whole thing lightened but as you will see itās not even close to the whole thing. She had the nerve to say if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay MORE. Terrible terrible management and not nice at all. Reading other reviews she also did the manipulation to me saying I was happy with the hair.. yes it looks good from far but up close it looks terrible and for what I paid I should have gotten what I asked for at minimum. I just canāt even explain how terrible this experience was and I feel bad for the stylist because if she treats her customers like this I canāt imagine how they are treated. Also funny because she said sheās never had these complaints before but looking at the other reviews...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have to say before I go further with my review is that my wife does work here and before I sound Biased that my opinion is based on a 2 parts.
First opinion (Before my wife worked for the salon) Iād been here a few times with my wife so that she could get her hair cut, colored and styled and she always left Ecstatic about the results. The owner JB was actually there a few of those times that I was and always made me feel comfortable and welcome and even convinced me to have a haircut myself and like my wife I left happy with the end results. The small company has given back to the community in more ways than one and it was hard to appreciate it at that time.
Second opinion (my wife currently working) Itās hard to put into words the amount of time effort and studies that I continue to watch my wife utilize that this company offers JB ensures that every time there is an opportunity for further knowledge but not only my wife but all individuals that work for the salon have the opportunity to be involved.
Now I can Recognize that mistakes are going to happen I can only give my personal opinion from my own experiences with that said I try to look at it with an understanding that everyone has a bad day not everybody is going to have the perfect customer and that can be difficult for all parties involved. There are so many factors that need to be looked at from how an individual on both the associate side and client side start and end a session. From a consult where final results are figured out to the payment of service. Iāve seen people of all attitudes while inside where theyāre happy about what they got bragging and taking pictures before even leaving to people unsatisfied and paying for only the product that was used and nothing else. Again stuff happens and when you focus on the bad just know that it happens but what measures are taken to attempt the fix is what makes a company great. That is this company!
So yes I recommend Detour Salon & Style and hope all will go and enjoy not only the excellent services offered to them but also the fun...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been going to Clip Zone here in Anderson since I was 14 years old. I heard about Detour through a friend and decided to try it out since they use same Redken color. The first time I had my hair done at Detour, I booked with their best hair coloring stylist/"bayalage" artist (next to the owner) and it looked great! I had my hair colored brown with the red tint (my usual) with a few new peek-a-boo darker pieces to blend my hair extensions I have that I wear on occasion . The second time I went, I told the same stylist to touch up and she accidentally colored my whole head the color she did my peek-a-boo pieces in. I have never in my life wanted BLACK hair ... when she tried to do a color correction, my hair was further ruined with a red band at the root of my hair and looked terrible ! She attempted to color correct twice .. and then when I sent pics the second time she stopped responding. I attempted to reach the owner of the salon for a couple weeks without a call back. Once I finally reached the owner, she blamed the color correction screw up on my hormones, water (I use Anderson water same as I always have), and/or on my shampoo (I have used pureology for 10 years).. she blamed the color correction screw up on everything else other than the inexperience of the stylist who did my hair . Costed me almost $100 to have my hair ruined.. and returned to Clip Zone to have my hair fixed (which costed me another $100) It was a simple color correction and I am thankful to have my hair back to somewhat normal and not embarrassed to wear my hair down anymore š©! Within writing this review .. I was not impressed with the lack of professionalism that was displayed by owner of this salon and...
