Michaels — Local services in Anderson

This location is by far one of the best customer service experiences I've ever received. After going to a competitor store asking a question about wrapping gifts because of my inability to use my hands well I called around and spoke with the representative from Michaels and he said that he would have to call his manager in order to find out if that would be okay. Afterward the manager called me back personally and said that they would be more than willing to help with wrapping my gifts. Even though it was something they don't usually do, the manager was willing to go out of her way to help a customer with a disability. The store keeps their customer service serious, all of the staff were very helpful very kind and very knowledgeable of what they were trying to help with. It was really expensive for the most part. I did find something on sale for a decent price, Get to the registers and there was only self checkout. I checked out then noticed one of the items was broken , so I clicked the button to get help. No one came, saw someone at the door which we thought was a door greeter, as there was no response and she was just on her phone. Went up to her and explained the situation and asked if I could go get another one and bring it up there to exchange it. I get it go back up there come to find out she was customer service maybe? She wouldn't allow me to just exchange it, she had to give me a refund then I had to purchase it again, she acted like I was stupid for asking and that it would throw everything off. Never have come across this in any other store, was same exact item sku and all. I found it crazy that she was the only employee in there...

Only positive about this location is most of the employees are nice and the store is always clean. I guess it's not hard to keep clean when you have such a small selection and low stock of what you do have. Saddest selection of yarn I've ever seen. I was stoked for a local location to open only to be severely disappointed. You'll have better luck at Walmart or Meijer. "Two" aisles of yarn which is really only one and a half. If you want to be technical not even that since they're always out of stock of what they are SUPPOSED to carry. I would add a photo but 1. There wouldn't be much to see and 2. I promptly left since it took less than 30 seconds to see they didn't...
