I reserved a room for my daughters 9th birthday. The woman who took my reservation (Kristin) was very nice and Sean, the over night guy was very helpful, he added our late checkout and we rented a cot so the kids could spread out a bit more. However, after requesting and being charged for late check out (which I'm fine with paying fees) I took the kids to the pool while my husband packed up our room and cleaned it up a bit. We had been at the pool for an extra 30 min after checkout, while I was in the process of getting them out of the pool and changed in the pool restroom the front desk woman came in and began yelling at us to get out bc we were there past our checkout time. There are zero policies regarding this posted anywhere on premises or on their website. No policy stating that you must leave the property at time of checkout. She also then threatened to charge us for extra children when they were all on our reservation and they do have a children stay free policy posted on their website. She was shrieking at myself, my husband and our children. Accusing us of wrong doing and being very rude and disrespectful. I told her that there was no reason for her to be treating us this way at all. She rudely informed us we were going to be charged for an extra hour and that her boss would have "blown his gasket" if he saw the kids still in pool area after we had already paid for our stay. We have traveled quite a bit and have never been told we had to immediately vacate the premises upon checkout and I cannot find any policy of such anywhere. I'm happy to follow policy. However being yelled at, disrespected, threatened with more fees and being spoken to like we were criminals I would not recommend anyone stay here. We did have to pay another $15 for us being there an extra hour. I've never been treated that way and I would hate for anyone else to be treated that way either. Completely uncalled for. She should have approached the situation very differently and professionally. And they need to post their policies transparently before threatening and charging anyone...
Read moreWe are all so surprised by how nice this hotel was… we were not expecting a nice hotel in Anderson… at all. We all loved being able to walk up to our room with the welcoming stairs in the hallways. We all prefer stairs instead of elevators and feel that should be a feature in hotels like it used to be.
We carry pool chemical strips with us because we have had hot tub folliculitis before which is really painful. We don’t mess around with that anymore and we check the water before our kids get in. This pool met all its chemical requirements which is always great. We really loved this pool, honestly because it had the BEST floor around the pool for an indoor pool that we have stayed at. Every indoor pool area should have the little pebbles for traction… the other hotels have been tile and it is so slick!! Another thing we liked was the shower at the pool, it was so nice! The water feature wasn’t working when we were there but it is still a very nice pool.
Very satisfied with coffee machine!!! Ate outside on patio for breakfast which was lovely and the little kids watched the bunnies eat their breakfast too :] it was quiet. They have a 270 degree fireplace at breakfast area that was comforting even though it wasn’t on. There is also another seating area upfront… nice to have options. We also really appreciated that they wrote down their weekly menu on a white board so you knew what was for breakfast. The person working serves you the hot breakfast items, you don’t serve yourself. I was very impressed and super proud that she changed her gloves each time. She was great at cleaning up the tables and if their was a spill it was cleaned up quickly by house cleaning.
This place was CLEAN, would stay here again. We were satisfied with the beds and...
Read moreWhen we arrived and was checking in they didn't have down that we had a dog. Booking on Expedia the info did not transfer over. We had booked a King room with a walk in shower. Once the knew we had a dog they wanted to move us to a pet friendly room that was 2 full size beds. My husband asked for a king room and walk-in shower again. The gentleman at the desk was hard to understand but that was ok, he was very nice and accommodating giving us what we asked for minus the walk in shower. The room was very clean and fresh. I did get an extra blanket from front desk so I could put over the sofa so our long hair German Shepherd didn't leave behind so much hair. They thank me for that since we were not in a pet friendly room. Housekeeping was the best, very friendly and helpful. Bob and Pinky did amazing making sure our stay was the best it could be. The breakfast was soooo gooood. We had ham, bacon eggs and biscuit and gravy one morning and ham and sausage with eggs and french toast the next. Plus you had the waffle bar with 2 different kids of batter. The cereal bar with fruit, toast, bagels was stocked and everything was fresh. There OJ was not watered down like most places. They even gave us extra ham and sausage to take back to our dog each morning. Melissa that worked the breakfast bar was so sweet and made sure we got plenty of food and kept the dinning room cleaned and stocked. Thank you for making our weekend from home a pleasant stay. The hot tub was a bonus for me. The pool area was clean and towels were kept stocked up. If you are ever in Anderson Indiana check them out. $375 for two nights for two adults that included the $30 pet fee for each night was a deal. Since we got a breakfast that we would had to pay $30-40 for if we went...
