I have stayed at this location on previous trips from 2007 on when it was a Motel 6 and always found it satisfactory and inexpensive, plus it's always nice to come back to a place where they have gotten to know you and welcome you with open arms. I was a bit disconcerted to find that it was no longer the same Motel and the the one I was familiar with had moved around the corner. The reviews weren't that great for the Motel 6 but I decided to drive over there and check it out anyway. I didn't see any sign that you could park in front of your room at the new Motel 6, which is important to me, and the lobby and reception room there reeked of unpleasant old smoke smell as soon as I walked in. When the man behind the counter said it would be $65 for one senior to sleep there I said I would think about it and left. In the past I have usually paid 30 to $35 a night for a room!
I decided to come here and see what I thought, maybe ask to see a room. When I looked on Yelp I saw the pictures and the rooms didn't look too bad, rather nice in fact. I liked the two ladies behind the counter when I came in and asked questions and decided to go ahead and get a room for one night and see what I thought. There was no smoke smell in either the office or my room. When I told them I kind of like being close to the office they offered me Room 101 which is actually a handicap room. I have stayed in handicap rooms on occasion in the past and had no problem with them so I said okay. The room was immaculately clean, the bed was pretty and extremely comfortable, the price included a small refrigerator and microwave which Motel 6 never did, the bathroom was huge and there is a small desk in the corner. I I have posted pictures of the room from various angles. As you can see my pictures are not much different than the pictures the motel posted. Everything was not only pretty but exceedingly clean. The TV gets good reception and the plumbing works fine. I'd rather save a little money and not get the so-called "free" amenities like lotion and shower caps at a place that charges $20-30 more per night. If I don't bring my own I can always buy some of the local Dollar Store.
Internet is free!! And works well.
I liked the place so much I decided to stay here longer. As the ladies point out, the motel is 60 years old, but I think they have made it look very nice for its age. The rate is higher on the weekends than during the week and it was still more than I had paid in the past, but I did get a discount and it was still less than the stinky/smokey Motel 6. Oh, and they have all day coffee too which I like because I can be a late starter and it was sometimes difficult for me to get up to the office by 10 a.m. to grab a cup of coffee in the morning as I had to do at the other Motel. Plus I like the fact that I'm already familiar with the location and feel comfortable here. I feel totally safe, another plus.
They do have a weekly rate and I think I heard there was a monthly rate also but I'm not sure how long I will be here this trip so I haven't utilized...
Read moreHonestly my first night I would have given it 3-4 stars. Rooms were kept up nice. I stayed during a holiday week. I paid $50 per night. Upon coming to the motel I knew I'd be staying a while so I asked how much for a week. The gentleman said $50 per night $60 for Christmas Eve and Christmas. So I paid $150 for 3 days plus tax it was like $166-$168. On the 4th morning the owner stood outside my door at 10:30am a half hour before checkout with his arms crossed and a generally rude look on his face. He says "you no pay for anymore nights you get ready to leave." I said ok I'm going to pay for additional nights. I paid for 3 more nights this time $60 for Christmas Eve and Christmas. I gave them another $178 after tax roughly. So I have now paid for 6 nights 7 days altogether. On the 6th morning I was approached by the owner again arms folded with a rude look again at 10:30am. He said you no pay you get ready to leave. I said no I paid mon-wed (Thurs morning at 11) and then again Thurs morning I paid for 3 more nights I should have until Sunday morning. He said you have no receipt (he didn't give me one for any of the nights) you leave now. I said ok upset I went to pay for another night as I was in the office a gentleman paid $200 cash no taxes for 7 nights. I said I asked for a week and was told it was $50 nightly I had to pay not weekly I paid $340 maybe a little more for 6 nights 7 days only got 5 nights 6 days and as I tried to over pay for another night I shouldn't have paid for again the clerk at the front desk said the owner had put me down as a dnr (do not rent). I did nothing wrong aside from saying I was upset I paid $340 and was cheated a night and that it was only $200 for a week. So in my opinion the cleaning lady is very sweet and keeps a clean room which is why I give it one star. The owner is very rude and appears to possibly cheat people out of nights stayed the clerk at the front was also nice. If there was no clerk or cleaning lady and Google had an option I would honestly give this hotel negative stars due...

I made a reservation through Expedia for check in on the 30th of April to check out on the 2nd of May. Due to a cracked head gasket on our only transportation, we were unable to check in that day. So, I called and pushed the check in to May 1st with a check out of May 3rd. Nothing was EVER said about a charge for that! That's stolen money #1! Then, when I had a blood clot in my leg and had to stay in the hospital from May 1st to May 2nd, we obviously didn't make it to check in for our stay. My fiancé called the motel and told them I'd had a medical emergency, could we cancel the reservation and get our money back? The first person he talked to said yes, and yet today (May 3rd) when he calls and speaks to the manager he's told that isn't going to happen. That we were considered a 'no-show' because someone had tried "multiple times" to call and find out if we were checking in. First of all, I have two words: MEDICAL EMERGENCY! My health trumps canceling a motel reservation last minute to avoid fees. And second, my number was the only contact number listed on the reservation so even if they had tried to call as many times as they claimed (spoiler: they didn't) due to the MEDICAL EMERGENCY my phone wasn't exactly in my hand at the ready to be answered. So now what? We've called this deceitful motel 2-3 times now trying to get our money back and were told to contact the booking site, Expedia. Called them, they called the motel, manager said "absolutely no refund because they're a no show" and WOULD NOT BUDGE so we lost that money we desperately need all because the Anderson Inn is managed by someone who values greed over human decency. Try the Days Inn next door. That one is ran by...
