I have now been to the store twice in two weeks as well as the Valley West/West Des Moines store. I cannot say enough good things about the Valley West store. They are great, but this Ankeny store is slow, short staffed, and the staff that they do have are rude and lazy, except for the young man running the store and the new girl in training. The middle-aged woman working is cold, rude, and short. The first time we went, we were buying a white shirt and we asked if they would be able to get the pin holes out of it to which they told us no they would have to wait for their steamer to warm up And we would have to wait 30 minutes. We were also never greeted and never helped without asking for help. We ended up not getting that shirt and leaving the store.
When I went to Valley West to grab a tie, I purchased an extra long tie full price. I also purchased some clearance shirts, which led me back to the Ankeny store because it’s closer to return. As I was waiting in the long line, I noticed the same tie that I bought on an extra long tag hanging in the clearance area for 4.99. I simply asked the cashier to Return my $50 because it was the same tire that I had just purchased for 54.99 She wanted to argue with me that the numbers did not match, she refused to call wdm, and that the picture My Husband sent was not in fact the same time. She then showed me the extra long version of that tie and made herself look dumb because the clearance tie was hanging on an extra long tag but was not actually extra long. I’m glad someone really tall didn’t buy a clearance tie thinking it was extra long when it was, in fact, not extra long. She was immediately defensive with me and not understanding and incredibly rude. I ended up purchasing the clearance tie to see if it will be a good fit for my husband and will be returning the true extra long tie that apparently is still full priced even though the normal length was on clearance, but hanging on an extra long tag… which she admitted there was probably a few regular length ties hanging on clearance extra long tags but not actually extra long… so misinformation and false advertising… As the cashier handed me my bag, and in a rude tone said “have a better night, ma’am… as if she wasn’t the issue to begin with. Needless to say, the store does not sort things properly, they are rude, they are slow, and they know nothing about...
Read moreThis Men's Warehouse location has been absolutely terrible to work with from the beginning. We've needed 8 suits from them for our wedding in June. We started working with the Men's Warehouse in Ankeny sometime in October or November, I believe. One of the father's suits didn't have pieces in the right size in stock anywhere, so they told us we needed to wait for the next shipment which would be about a month from then. We didn't hear anything from them in four months so I followed up in February. It turns out, shipments had come in but they didn't notify us. They didn't enter his measurements into the system (that were taken in October/November) so we had to go off of his height and weight to set several pieces aside in hopes of finding something that would fit. Next, they stated that one groomsmen suit had come in and they left numerous voicemails for the groomsmen but could never get ahold of him. Later in that same phone call, they asked me for his phone number. I have a hard time believing that they left several voicemails if they didn't have a phone number for him on file. Third, they told me time and time again that they had all of the pieces for everyone in stock so they could come to get the final fitting done for their suits. However, when the guys arrived to get their suits, most of them had to have the white shirt ordered. Forth, they ordered the wrong color vest for one of the groomsmen and decided they were just going to ship his entire suit to his house once they had the vest. The suit never arrived and the groomsmen is now on his third visit to the store and he lives 2+ hours away. I will NEVER do business with this Men's Warehouse location again. The story changes every time you talk to Robin, the store manager. I have voiced my concerns and complaints to Robin over the phone and through email and nothing has changed. I am extremely dissatisfied with my experiences at this store and cannot wait to be done with the suits for the wedding. Please do yourself a favor and use a different Men's Warehouse location for your wedding or find a different company to do business with. If I could give 0...
Read moreI wouldn't go there again if you paid me too!! I set appointment in April for me and my 10 yr old to have suits for my wedding in July, when we first went in to get set up as they did our measurements they seemed rude and vague about everything. I asked if we needed to come in to be fitted later on, they told me they'll do that when it comes in Tuesday of the event even though they was told I was traveling for my wedding. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they knew what they was doing but still seemed unsure by email I was getting saying I needed measurements for my order so I called 3 times to be sure everything was set which I already paid in full for the suite rentals. They insured me I shouldn't of got those emails and everything was set to be ready. So the Tuesday before the event I go to get them they just tried handing them to me without me trying them on luckily I asked to try them on, mine fit but my sons was no where close so I they told me they'll could overnight it and it will be here Thursday the day I had to leave for my wedding travels welp sure enough Thursday came and never even ordered it. So thanks for ruining me and my fiance special day now instead of suites we are now wearing blue jeans and button up shirts on our wedding day!! Oh and to top it off they couldn't even give all my money back because they didn't have enough cash in store so now I have to wait 3 weeks to get the other half of my money put back in my account. So if you want to have nice suits for your wedding I suggest going...
