I booked a 6 hour offshore charter with Captain Nate last minute for my father in-law and myself. Nate was at the dock ready to roll right at 7am as promised.

Within the first half hour of fishing, we had a five gallon bucket overflowing with nice size Key West Grunts. We continued to fill the cooler at the first stop before moving to the next.

The next spot was on fire right out of the gate. We ended up landing 3 hogfish, a dozen or so small red grouper, and a couple out of season gag groupers. Move to the next spot where we landed another surprise.

We noticed a blue shadow chasing some grunts we had been landing. Captain Nate quickly switched the rigs to free line some bait towards the shadow. Not a minute later my FIL’s rod gets smoked. After a 5 minute tug of war, he finally landed a beautiful Bonito. We ended up catching more grunts than we could fit in the cooler and a keeper size Sheepshead. All in all we ended up with over 10 pounds of meat after everything was cleaned up by Nate.

I can’t go on enough about how wonderful Nate was but I’ll try to keep it short. My family went to Disney world and I had to stay home to care for the dogs so my husband hired Nate to charter me around during the day to do whatever. I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to do but he was so laid back and made me feel so comfortable. I told him “I just want to see cool stuff like nature and wildlife and I also like to look for shells.” Well, he grew up in that area and it showed. I saw SO many dolphins and he took me directly to a trail that he claimed turtles were at and THERE WAS a turtle!!! Then I wanted to look for shells for like two hours and felt bad for him because it was 10000 degrees, but he continuously reassured me that it was fine and we could do this all evening if I wanted to. Then I decided I wanted to fish and he knew exactly where to go and had the equipment to do so. I had the best day despite my venture out alone. I rate Nate a 10 out of 10.
