Absolutely horrid company and customer service, refused to let us speak to a manager and mocked us on the phone even having an attorney present. My mother had fraud on her bank account and missed 2 months of payments after NEVER MISSING A PAYMENT IN 3 YEARS. They called her once on Tuesday, and sent no other communications to her. When she called back 2 DAYS LATER (today 10/27/23) they informed her they have sold all her items. In that storage unit were antiques and keepsakes of her spouse hundreds of years old passed down from our family. After losing her husband 3 years ago my mother relocated to Az where her address is updated with the MDV and all her contact information was the same. This company did not send a letter or email and are in breach of contract per the original agreement she signed. Not to mention her items that are irreplaceable and extremely expensive.. gone. While the place is convenient and we have used them in the past. This will be the last time using them. I do like there facilities, don't get me wrong, but definitely read the fine print. In there they say that they can change the terms of their agreement and they will! After getting a unit at a discount rate for the first month (totally understandable and I knew that upfront). But then a few months later, they decided to raise my monthly bill by $30! Now, according to their terms they did give me notice; but seriously! Life Storage waits until I get the unit filled and then hikes my rate! That is none customer friendly.
