Food Lion — Local services in Asheboro

Today we were again overcharged on an item but this time the store manager had the nerve to outright lie to my wife. We had already checked out and as we have found we need to check our receipt before leaving looked it over. We both saw that the one item that we had bought two of was not the same price that was marked on the shelf. My wife went back to check the shelf to be sure we were right. And we were. As she went back to address the overcharge with management the manager walked back and changed the price and took a picture of the display. When my wife approached her to adjust the bill the manager told her that, no this is the price. When my wife told her that she'd witnessed her changing the price the woman held up the picture and said no, this is the price, "I changed it earlier today". An outright, bold faced lie. We USED TO spend several thousand dollars a year at Food Lion. That number is likely to change...

Warning!!! Be careful shopping here there have been multiple times recently where I got home and realized what I bought was already out of date has happened with yogurt, cool whip, and bread. This past Sunday I ran in to grab a few things to make dinner and when I got home and went to cook I realized the brand new bag of cheese I had just gotten had mold in it, then I had bought coleslaw and went to open it and it smelled absolutely horrendous it was sour. This was the last time I will ever shop at this food lion. At this point I had already thrown my receipt away so I was not able to go back to the store. The first couple of times I just wrote it off I understand every once in a while a bad product may slip through stores and associates are very busy but this has continued to happen over the course of a year. Usually I always shop here. After standing at the counter of the deli department today (8/1/2023) I got tired of waiting for the lady to even glance over to help me. A another lady walked up and made a comment about me being so tall and not understanding how she’s not seen me. I told the lady (customer) it’s fine I wasn’t begging anyone to take my money told her to have a good day and walked off to checkout. The lady come up behind me in line and said she walked around the counter and started yelling excuse me for service. I told her I was leaving here and driving just down the road to Lowe’s Food and boy am I glad! Talk about a deli department! I may have just found my new grocery store.
