We were very happy to learn there was a Magic shop here while we are visiting. We went in. We were ignored. In 12 minutes the only thing anyone said was you need to pull your mask higher up. My husband asked for help several times. He was told HE could not look at cards but if he had a list they would look for him. He said I have a list right here. The lady just turned and walked away. Every person that came in after us was talked with and helped. My husband told her he was looking to buy some very expensive cards. She says nobody has any old cards...did not even ask to SEE what he wanted.. (and some people DO have the valuable cards because WE do) Some of the cards on his list are valued at $1k...you would THINK a shop would want his business. As we walked out the door he said if nobody wants to take my money I guess I will go on and leave...that still didn't get anyone interested in selling him anything. Apparently if you aren't local they do not want your business so my opinion is don't waste your time and give your money to a shop that wants your business! Update: April 2022. We came back to Ashville and my husband wanted to give them another chance. We were remembered and received a sincere apology. She helped my husband find several cards he wanted. The experience was 100% better. I am changing my original 1* review. He didn't spend as much as he would have last year (because he found some of the ones he had been looking for). But he is very happy with his purchases and I think he intends to order more via mail. The service was excellent, professional and felt like she sincerely wanted to help. So, if you are in the area and looking for Magic Cards I would now highly recommend planning a stop here.

I’ve been coming to Gamers’ Haunt regularly for a couple years now and it is truly a special place. The selection of products — both sealed and singles for Magic: the Gathering as well as lots of D&D accessories, just see the photos for examples from when I stopped in today — will excite fans every time they come by. But I also just love the clientele, the vibe that is helpful and welcoming to everyone. It’s a great place to play some pickup games or come for one of their regular tournaments. I have met and made friends here. They’ve done a great job making this a fun place to shop and spend time, which is why I’ve done quite a bit of both since moving to Asheville.

Lovely store. The manager, Charla, does a terrific job at it all. Plus, they're really fun to experience new releases with!!!

Hands down, the most amazing Magic: the Gathering store in Asheville. Charla, Dale, and the rest of the staff are second to none with their customer service, and they easily have the best selection of cards of any store in the region. Their prices are always fair, and comparable to what you can find online, an absolute feat in this day and age. If you have never been to this store, you owe it to yourself to check it out. Charla is unfailingly polite, and always a gracious host at events. Even when the store is slammed with players and people looking for cards, the entire staff always takes the time to answer questions, help with questions about an ongoing game, or help a customer who needs guidance. I cannot overstate the fact that Gamer’s Haunt is an absolute pillar for the local Magic Community. Recently, when another local store was closing down, they graciously provided a space for many Commander players who were left without a place to hold tournaments. I look forward to being a customer for many years to come. A lovely, child friendly atmosphere that hosts a variety of ages, from 8-10 years old, all the way to 40 +. I would recommend this store without...

Great place to buy with the giant mtg and dnd selections as well as other trading card packs and boosters available. The owner is friendly and also knowledgeable and really into what she does. Store layout is neat and offers a wide variety and she buys inventory so she probably has that special card youre looking for as well as dice, playmats and so much more! I have sold well over $500 worth of cards to her and intend to sell more. Always offers a fair buyer price based on tcg numbers and that will keep me coming back. She dresses up herself and the shop for prereleases and events and her effort shows and stands out to me in comparison to other local mtg player hubs, which makes this place her own. Has weekly tournaments, and other on going events posted on thier facebook. I recommend this store for a new player or old, whether your buying or selling or maybe just looking for like minded friendly wizards to learn and play with. Either way this shop is ran beautifully and it's worth a stop, or in my opinion a stay. Come play a hand and witness magic in the making, done right. Good job gamer's haunt,...
