Raintown Vintage Collective is like pushing the button on your time machine and it FINALLY WORKS!!!! It's located in Astoria, in the most amazing old building, and from the moment you walk through its' doors, you know there's SOMETHING really special waiting for you inside. There's a super funky coffee shop on the main floor. And then, once you get downstairs the selection of vintage clothing mixed in with beautiful antiques and the coolest collectables from the past is nothing short of just plain ridiculously EXCITING. (you almost can't decide where to look first) Everything is super organized and set up so it makes it easy to browse leisurely as you rock out to the awesome tunes that are playing as you have a blast from the past shopping experience. So fun! And what a selection of vintage clothing! Wow!!!!! And to top it all off, the kindest most polite "old fashioned" cool dude is behind the counter to help you out. Wow this is a cool spot. I only wish I'd had more time there (I arrived near closing) because the selection was amazing and I didn't even make it through half of it! I'm not sure if the person I interacted with was the owner or not but they were super friendly and let me stay a few extra minutes past closing in order to finish trying on some items, which I really appreciated. Tons and tons of rad vintage clothing! I’ve found some great closet staples here from overalls to vintage Levi’s and the perfect denim jacket, to adorable durable leather sandals and my favorite knit hat. Each piece was no more than $20.
