BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): Be sure to RSVP at least a few days in advance to confirm that staff will be there to host the class. 3/5 because I cant speak to the actual experience of making a perfume or the climate they promise but to the limited customer service interaction I had. Just wanted to write this for awareness to future customers.
I planned a surprise date night for my boyfriend and me on April 17, 2025, from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Purchasing two tickets through their website was easy and straightforward.
We arrived around 7:45 PM. Luckily, someone else happened to be getting buzzed in at the same time, because we weren’t aware that we’d need to be buzzed in—the business is actually a suite inside a locked building, not a standalone storefront (just FYSA). When we got to the suite, no one was there. All of the shops, including By Le Creme, were closed. We assumed someone would show up closer to the start time, but no one ever did, and I didn’t receive any kind of cancellation notice before 8:32 PM.
We tried calling a few times but didn’t get an answer. I submitted a contact request through their website, which was answered within a minute. The person who responded (I assume the owner) explained that the class host had left at 8:10 PM after her 6:30 PM class, and apologized, saying that same-day reservations sometimes don’t register in time.
Again, we didn’t see anyone there at all before 8:10 PM, so we’re not sure how that lined up. However, she did agree to a full refund right away, which was ideal to not have to fight or go back and forth. She also offered to make it right by providing a free session for my boyfriend and I, which is excellent customer service. Unfortunately, we’re from out of town and might not be able to take them up on that offer but hope to make it happen.
I truly appreciate the quick response and the effort to make things right—it means a lot. That said, I’d recommend updating the website or policies to clearly explain that same-day reservations might not be honored, and to send out a cancellation email if a class isn’t going to happen IN ADVANCE. We drove a fair distance and carved out time specifically for this experience. If we had known same-day bookings weren’t guaranteed, we could’ve planned something else being our time in ATL is limited. Apparently, we were the only ones signed up for the class as no one else showed up—if that was a factor in canceling, a heads-up an hour or two before would’ve made a...
Read moreI booked this candle and perfume making class for my birthday, and while my friend ended up bailing on me, I didn't regret going solo for even a second! This turned out to be one of the most fun experiences I have had in a while.
The instructors were absolutely fantastic - so attentive and incredibly knowledgeable. They walked me through all the different scents step by step, which prevented me from feeling overwhelmed by all the choices. For the perfume portion, they were especially helpful in teaching proper scent layering and how to maintain your perfume professionally. The whole experience felt very personalized and well-guided.
The space is gorgeous with a really cute pink theme that adds a lovely feminine flair, but it's balanced enough that it would make a perfect date night spot too. It's tucked away in a more secluded location (you wouldn't stumble across it by accident), so make sure to park on the gravel area when you arrive if there’s space. Otherwise, the area some street parking options. The venue actually seems connected to another space where you can order drinks, and it's BYOB which is a nice touch. They have the glasses, you bring the alcohol!
Even though I went alone, I had a wonderful time chatting with a couple who was also taking the class. Both my candle and perfume turned out beautifully! They provide great containers for the candles and have an amazing selection of scents to choose from.
One thing I appreciated is the flexibility - if you're coming with a friend and want to do different activities (one person doing candles, another doing perfume), they can accommodate that. I chose to do both the candle and perfume making, and it was absolutely worth it.
As a birthday bonus, they even gave me a special birthday treat associated with the class, which was such a thoughtful surprise!
Overall, I absolutely adored this experience and would highly recommend it! The combination of knowledgeable instruction, beautiful venue, flexible options, and amazing results made for a perfect birthday celebration. Whether you're going solo, with a friend, or on a date, this class delivers an...
Read moreLove the idea! We came to Atlanta from Memphis for a quick weekend getaway to go to a concert. I saw this when searching for activities and knew we had to do it. The room is quaint and cozy and decorated beautifully! Unfortunately, I don’t feel that we got the same experience as some of the other reviewers. We stood outside the building for awhile before someone who worked there came up and put a code in to unlock the door. I think maybe putting instructions in the email explaining exactly where to go would be helpful (it’s a building with multiple floors and different businesses and again, the door to get into the main building was locked.)
We had 2 instructors. One was very sweet and helpful. But she seemed to maybe be relying on the other to lead. The lead only came in to write down measurements. She was mostly gone, not in the room for more than 10 minutes total. I feel the experience would’ve been better had there been more engagement from the instructors - more explaining of the different scents, what complements other scents. Maybe discussion/suggestions to help us. We were just winging it! lol! But our fragrances came out great...
