Here is the experience from 3 business travelers (3 rooms) - the good, the bad, and the ugly....
THE GOOD The best thing about the stay was the breakfast. It wasn't fantastic and it was the same exact menu every day, but it was on par to similar properties in terms of variety and cleanliness. Staff member, Melissa, did a good job of keeping things stocked. Only other reason to possibly stay here is that location is ok. Proximity within city is decent and within walking distance of a couple of nice restaurants. But, to keep things in perspective it was located in the type of neighborhood where the clerks in the gas station two blocks away are fully caged/protected.
THE BAD Blow dryer wouldn't work in two rooms Keys stopped working for all three rooms (including on two separate occasions for two of the rooms) Television wasn't working in one of the rooms Floor layouts were odd - so bad that it was unrealistic to watch television from the bed in one of the rooms without a telescope Elevator broke down (but was repaired) during the stay Asked for a new box of Kleenex from front desk staff member, who was completely indifferent about the request. After insisting, she feigned looking around and after not finding any, took down room number (never got any). Lighting fixtures all had corrosion on them No water pressure
THE UGLY Stains everywhere in all of the rooms - on curtains, floor, chairs, tables Feet were so dirty (with dirt and a pile of thin red hairs) after briefly walking around room one night that was too grossed out to walk around room after that without shoes. Room was clearly not vacuumed. Female colleague's room was walked-in on by a male staff member without any knock/warning. Apparently, he needed to paint the room. Indifference - front desk staff could have cared less about customer service. Stared at phone when walking by or when approached (i.e. no looking up to say hello). Looking back at reviews, it seems the general attitude of management is indifference - plenty of negative reviews with the standard form response - "thank you" and "we'll pass along your feedback."
OVERALL Probably would have given this 2 stars (not the 1 it received), as this could be an acceptable hotel for a heads-down, sleep-only trip. But, unlike the dirty carpet, the dirty-ick feeling from a male staff member entering a female occupant's hotel room without knocking...

Read moreafter reading the reviews, I was skeptical because of it being a two star place. But upon arrival check in was good D attendant who checked me in was nice and welcoming. My home is being remodeled so we stayed here for two days a family of 10. The rooms were very big two bathrooms, two queen beds, a refrigerator, a microwave, and the sofa bed. My overall experience was very good. I had no problems with my room. The size of the room was amazing. The sofa beds are a little old as far as the material. The only bad thing I have to say about the hotel is the breakfast staff that stands around while you fix food acts as if they don’t want you to fix too much food or get more than one item. I don’t know what the Lady problem was, but she huddled over my kids while they fixed their plates. And these are little kids these are teens 18-16 (2) - 15-11- older kids that knows how to fix plates they even cook at home so I didn’t understand why she huddled over them and watch them while they fix their food. It made my kids uncomfortable to the fact that when I asked one of them to go grab me another biscuit they didn’t even want to go back down. When I’m paying my money, I don’t want to be judge if I get two biscuits instead of one. one of the reason I chose this hotel was because they had free breakfast. And don’t get me wrong. They wasn’t fixing mountain tall plates. They got normal portions so that really pissed me off. I can see if they was being doggish or sloppy while fixing their food, but for the fact that they was not, and she still huddled was a problem. She even took the food away while my son was fixing his grandad‘s plate, breakfast stop at 9:30. She started removing the items at 9:28 which was rude when she saw that he was fixing food.. It wasn’t just one Worker. It was one worker and a coworker to watch them. The only reason I rated it to four was the person that checked me in was very nice and the rooms were comfortable, but the staff…. The person that checked me out was unwelcoming, I walked up and said hi. I’m trying to check out. She said drop your keys in the box and you’re done, atleast speak back, LOL. and as far as homeless people being outside or the neighborhood being bad, I did not experience that and that was one of the reasons I almost did not go to this hotel. it was very clean outside and no one was outside...
