I had one of the most disturbing hotel experiences of my life at this location on October 9, 2025, while traveling from Mississippi to Atlanta for a professional speaking engagement. I arrived shortly before 2:00 a.m. with my two small children (ages 5 and 7) after a long drive. When I called the front desk for help locating the entrance, the attendant refused to assist, saying, “I don’t know where you’re at.” Once I entered the building, I calmly expressed that I was disappointed in the lack of help and asked to speak with a manager. Instead of showing professionalism or empathy, the staff member became defensive, canceled my reservation on the spot, and falsely told police that I had threatened him — which the responding officers quickly confirmed was untrue. By the way he printed a paper saying I cancelled the booking when I fact he did, pictured below is showing that the police had him write that he cancelled the booking. As a result, I was stranded in the middle of the night with two children, had to find another hotel at 4:30 a.m., and lost hours of rest before my engagement the next morning. This experience left me shaken, exhausted, and concerned for our safety. I have since filed a formal complaint with the hotel’s corporate office and requested a full investigation into this employee’s conduct. Guests deserve safety, respect, and truth — not retaliation for asking for help. Parents traveling with children should use caution when booking this property until this issue is addressed. This employee should be fired.

This hotel is nothing like the pictures it is very outdated. Only thing good about it is the location. I had to call the police 9/22 during my stay on attendant Chrissy she was rude and refuse to assist me. She had me along with 5 other guest waiting over 10-15 min to be assisted while she /he sat in the back room on the phone. Chrissy then had the nerve to cut the light off and still not come to assist. Once she heard me telling another guest someone cut the light off she immediately came to the desk insulting me with an attitude as if he wanted to fight and told be he will not assist me.All I wanted to do was report the damages in the room so I won’t be charged that’s all, Never gave attitude until this man Chrissy started to disrespect me so I’m not sure what was even his issue Keep in mind the camera at the desk will show all of what I’m saying.Chrissy then leaves from behind the counter to come in the lobby and say call who you want IDC I’m not helping you also keep In Mind this is a transgender man taunting a women. I never in all my stay experience this I felt very unsafe being a customer that was called broke because I stayed here lol and insulted. This hotel is nothing what is advertised rooms are cheap staff is rude it’s just not what is advertised no reason to lie I’m really just ready Togo home this has been a nightmare.unfortunately when police came they said this is a civil matter it’s nothing that they can do since it was no weapons/ physical assault going on

I held Everyone's 75th birthday celebration over the weekend of September 12 to 14th at the Clarion Inn & Suites in Downtown Atlanta. We had 15 to 20 sleeping rooms and 60 people participating. The sleep rooms were cool, clean, beds were very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding and staff made you feel right at home. We used the Castleberry room for our Meet and Greet. The room is spacious and accomodated 60 people comforably. The bathrooms and kitcken were clean and accesible. The staff was very attentive and flexible. My 3rd party carterer inadvertently left her chafing pans and unprompted the the hotel general manager and her staff jumped in and provided chafing pans. The staff helped with set up and security of the room. The hotel is located on the edge of downtown Atlanta. Located between the Mercedes Benz stadium and the Historical Black Colleges and Universities. It is valued priced and located on the same property as the historical Paschal's resturant.

Here is the experience from 3 business travelers (3 rooms) - the good, the bad, and the ugly....

THE GOOD The best thing about the stay was the breakfast. It wasn't fantastic and it was the same exact menu every day, but it was on par to similar properties in terms of variety and cleanliness. Staff member, Melissa, did a good job of keeping things stocked. Only other reason to possibly stay here is that location is ok. Proximity within city is decent and within walking distance of a couple of nice restaurants. But, to keep things in perspective it was located in the type of neighborhood where the clerks in the gas station two blocks away are fully caged/protected.

THE BAD Blow dryer wouldn't work in two rooms Keys stopped working for all three rooms (including on two separate occasions for two of the rooms) Television wasn't working in one of the rooms Floor layouts were odd - so bad that it was unrealistic to watch television from the bed in one of the rooms without a telescope Elevator broke down (but was repaired) during the stay Asked for a new box of Kleenex from front desk staff member, who was completely indifferent about the request. After insisting, she feigned looking around and after not finding any, took down room number (never got any). Lighting fixtures all had corrosion on them No water pressure

THE UGLY Stains everywhere in all of the rooms - on curtains, floor, chairs, tables Feet were so dirty (with dirt and a pile of thin red hairs) after briefly walking around room one night that was too grossed out to walk around room after that without shoes. Room was clearly not vacuumed. Female colleague's room was walked-in on by a male staff member without any knock/warning. Apparently, he needed to paint the room. Indifference - front desk staff could have cared less about customer service. Stared at phone when walking by or when approached (i.e. no looking up to say hello). Looking back at reviews, it seems the general attitude of management is indifference - plenty of negative reviews with the standard form response - "thank you" and "we'll pass along your feedback."

OVERALL Probably would have given this 2 stars (not the 1 it received), as this could be an acceptable hotel for a heads-down, sleep-only trip. But, unlike the dirty carpet, the dirty-ick feeling from a male staff member entering a female occupant's hotel room without knocking...

after reading the reviews, I was skeptical because of it being a two star place. But upon arrival check in was good D attendant who checked me in was nice and welcoming. My home is being remodeled so we stayed here for two days a family of 10. The rooms were very big two bathrooms, two queen beds, a refrigerator, a microwave, and the sofa bed. My overall experience was very good. I had no problems with my room. The size of the room was amazing. The sofa beds are a little old as far as the material. The only bad thing I have to say about the hotel is the breakfast staff that stands around while you fix food acts as if they don’t want you to fix too much food or get more than one item. I don’t know what the Lady problem was, but she huddled over my kids while they fixed their plates. And these are little kids these are teens 18-16 (2) - 15-11- older kids that knows how to fix plates they even cook at home so I didn’t understand why she huddled over them and watch them while they fix their food. It made my kids uncomfortable to the fact that when I asked one of them to go grab me another biscuit they didn’t even want to go back down. When I’m paying my money, I don’t want to be judge if I get two biscuits instead of one. one of the reason I chose this hotel was because they had free breakfast. And don’t get me wrong. They wasn’t fixing mountain tall plates. They got normal portions so that really pissed me off. I can see if they was being doggish or sloppy while fixing their food, but for the fact that they was not, and she still huddled was a problem. She even took the food away while my son was fixing his grandad‘s plate, breakfast stop at 9:30. She started removing the items at 9:28 which was rude when she saw that he was fixing food.. It wasn’t just one Worker. It was one worker and a coworker to watch them. The only reason I rated it to four was the person that checked me in was very nice and the rooms were comfortable, but the staff…. The person that checked me out was unwelcoming, I walked up and said hi. I’m trying to check out. She said drop your keys in the box and you’re done, atleast speak back, LOL. and as far as homeless people being outside or the neighborhood being bad, I did not experience that and that was one of the reasons I almost did not go to this hotel. it was very clean outside and no one was outside...
