Building & amenities nicely designed. Common areas clean & cleaning staff friendly. Concierge staff pleasant & maintenance team is exceptional. The small rooftop pool is nice, with amazing views. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends. Construction/design quality of the apartment interiors is abysmal, especially considering the price point. Broken (& then poorly fixed) door frames, scratches on cabinet finishes, exposed trim nails along baseboard, chipped (& painted over) trim, interior door with a crack, chipped countertop, misaligned light on ceiling fan. These flaws are not acceptable in a luxury apartment community that demands $3,000 a month for a 1-bed unit. The faux wood-look flooring is the cheapest flooring material I've ever seen. Sweeping, vacuuming, even walking on the floor - all scratches it. Horrible. The cabinetry looks attractive, the shelving feels sturdy & the soft-close is nice, but they're on the cheaper end of things. The corners of the cabinet doors have scratched/cut us multiple times, finish is peeling off drawers & the drawers in the kitchen aren't sturdy - if you open two drawers at once side-by-side, they will bump into each other. The under-cabinet trim is separating, less than a year after construction. These issues have me worried management will attempt to use this to keep our deposit or charge us for damages that weren't our fault. The interior doors are cheap & hollow; no noise insulation. Everyone in the apartment will hear what's going on in the bathroom. This was a shock - the last high rise we lived in had solid doors that insulated sound. The shower drain stops draining every 6 weeks or so for unknown reasons - no long hair or anything like that, that generally causes drain issues. The hallways are starting to smell stagnant - they no longer refill the scent devices; it smelled wonderful for the first few months. The hallways seem to have no A/C, as they are hot & humid during summer. The HVAC unit is quite loud inside the unit, & sits behind a metal door which results in an annoying metal-on-metal vibration noise. We had an alarming incident with the former manager in which she was publicly yelling & berating a resident, & then threatened to sic the company's lawyers on us for leaving the property a negative review. Thankfully, that sort of unprofessionalism is no longer here, but the new manager has made no attempts to introduce himself or incorporate his presence into the community. If you frequently receive packages, good luck! We've had more than a few packages that the carrier said were delivered, but the items can't be found. Also, good luck getting management to help you find any missing packages - they say they will look & get back to you, but never do either of those things. The lack of follow-up is maddening. Communication with management has become difficult. Calls/emails go unanswered. Management recently sent an email notifying residents a new utility bill would be added to rent, & included an addendum for us to sign. Since this charge wasn't discussed or included in our lease agreement, we did not sign & will not be paying the added fee. However, management included the fee on our next month's rent anyway. I requested the charge be removed for next month. I'll update this review with the result. The garage door was broken for over a month - I discovered it was broken early one morning when I was leaving for work; the door wouldn't open to let me out. I had to Uber to work & was told we'd receive a rent credit for the cost of the Uber, but it wasn't included on the next month's rent. I asked management and was told it will be on next month's statement - waiting to see if this is accurate. Update: had to contact management twice more to receive the credit. We wanted to love Nomia and we were so excited about moving here, but it's been a disappointing experience overall. The location is good, the amenities are nice & have that "wow" factor, but essentials are lacking. I will update this review with details on the renewal or move-out process once...
Read moreI regret having to write this review, as my initial experience with Nomia in June was exceptional. The property itself is stunning—well-designed, with top-tier amenities and a sense of sophistication. It’s clear the developers put great thought into creating a luxurious environment focused on service. However, a property is only as good as its management team.
Under the previous manager, Aisha Hazely, Nomia truly embodied luxury living. Ms. Hazely and her team—Victor, Jacob, and Jordan—exemplified the professionalism and sophistication expected from a high-end residence. Ms. Hazely was both personable and hands-on, regularly walking the property and addressing residents by name. Her team's attention to detail, knowledge of the property, and warm demeanor made every interaction feel special. They welcomed me with open arms during my visits and created a sense of community that I came to appreciate deeply.
Unfortunately, since Ms. Hazely’s departure, the service has drastically declined. The gate was inoperable for four weeks—a completely unacceptable delay for a property of this caliber. Small touches that set Nomia apart, such as health bars, snacks, and bottled water in the mezzanine area near the fitness center, have vanished, leaving empty refrigerators in plain sight. If these amenities are no longer offered, it would be better to remove the fridges altogether than to showcase their absence.
Another area where the property has regressed is in resident engagement. Under Ms. Hazely, events were a regular occurrence, creating opportunities for residents to connect and feel involved in the community. In contrast, there have been no events since her departure. I find this especially troubling, as I previously lived in a mid-rise that, while not advertised as luxury, hosted regular social events, provided refreshments in the lobby, and maintained an inviting atmosphere from its management team . If a mid-tier property can offer these experiences, why can’t a luxury high-rise like Nomia?
Adding to my concern is the mass exodus of Ms. Hazely’s team, with only one member, Jacob Egerton, remaining. This turnover hints at deeper, systemic issues that the company has clearly failed to address. Jacob, thankfully, continues to uphold the standard of service I came to expect, but the lack of consistency in the rest of the team is disappointing.
Furthermore, the once-charming scent that filled the building and enhanced the property’s ambiance is now only present in the first-floor lobby. In a high-rise where some units lack windows or balconies, maintaining this signature scent was not just a luxury—it was a necessity to keep the atmosphere fresh and welcoming. Its disappearance is yet another example of the gradual decline in the quality of experience here.
It’s frustrating to anticipate what else might be diminished at Nomia after losing so many important features. With the decline in service and attention to detail, I worry that more amenities—like the coffee machine, Ergo Hub, or gym services—could be next, along with reduced maintenance and cleanliness. It’s disheartening to feel like I’m waiting for the next disappointment in what was once a luxurious place to live.
The new manager’s lack of engagement is frustrating and off-putting. In the four weeks after Ms. Hazely left, I didn’t see him once. The only time I encountered him was in the elevator, where he made no effort to introduce himself or acknowledge residents. I had to ask staff to confirm he was the new manager. His absence makes me feel like I’m doing management a favor by living here, rather than enjoying the luxury experience I signed up for.
In short, Nomia is a beautiful property with great potential, but without a dedicated, responsive team, it falls short of delivering the promised luxury experience. A property’s true value comes from the people managing it, and that’s where Nomia is...
Read moreI am not usually one to write a bad review. Not typically my thing. Yes, I previously gave NOMIA a great review when I first moved in under the old management team.
HOWEVER, this info needs to be shared so that others can learn from my experience here.
PLEASE be aware that NOMIA is NOT a smoke free building/community. I go to bed my apartment smells like smoke, I wake up my apartment smells like smoke. And I have ASTHMA.
In addition, we have a shared ventilation system, which allows for other tenants vices ie. - cigar smoke, marijuana smoke and cigarette smoke to invade your individual unit. Yes, YOUR INDIVIDUAL UNIT. I have 2 Dyson air purifiers in my apartment, and they together still don’t alleviate the smoke issue in my unit. There is nothing that management can seemingly do to enforce the smoke free policy that you agree to, upon signing your lease. Several of us have complained and complained and complained. I was told that they TRY to enforce the policy, but cannot, as some ppl will do as they choose, SMOKE. Continuing to tell potential residents that you are a smoke free building is in my opinion, leasing under false pretenses. Instead, you need to not mislead potential tenants telling them that your are NOT a smoke free building /community, and tell them that it is a rule that you TRY to enforce. When you say that you ARE. That is a statement of guarantee. Residents have spotted ppl smoking marijuana at the pool on the rooftop while trying to enjoy a leisurely swim with their children. Nomia, Either you are or you’re not smoke free. I’ve been complaining about this issue since March. I don’t pay as much money (OVER $51k) to live here at NOMIA for you to try to make your residents adhere to a smoke free community policy. I moved to NOMIA, because you SAID that you are a smoke free community. If you would have said, we try to be a smoke free community and then I signed me lease, then that’s a different conversation. You did not. I was told that NOMIA is a smoke free community.
Now they want to penalize me for asking out of my as the smoke severely impacts my compromised immune system. I AGREED TO MOVE TO NOMIA AND SIGNED MY LEASE AS THEY Told ME THAT THIS is A SMOKE FREE COMMUNITY. In, addition, I was hospitalized Saturday night due to the smoke coming into my unit.
From their manager, Not even as much as a “hey, we are sorry that you’re having to experience this situation here at Nomia. As, we strive to make each resident comfortable. The exact opposite , a member of Greystar, politely told me what I need to pay back in order to be able to exit my lease. (Thank you to Brittan Asst Manager Thank you to Brittany leasing consultant thank you Jasmine leasing consultant you three have made it easier helping me to navigate this tumultuous situation)
In addition, the elevators reeks of marijuana DAILY. So if you want a smoke free building. Steer clear of NOMIA, as this is NOT it. NOMIA IS NOT A SMOKE...
