Today I visited this store for the first time during my visit to Ponce City Market. Upon entrance, my Goddaughter and I received a very warm welcome from a male staff. He also was helpful directing us to the mirror to get a better look of the purses I was checking out and recommended we checkout the wall of earrings. I complimented him, " You're good!" It was Good Friday and the store was offering a 20% off sale for the highest priced item you purchased. I was interested in purchasing two purses at $70 and $250+. I noticed the strap for the leather $250+ purse was broke. I informed Leslie and she said she would check the back for another one. Leslie returned with the unfortunate news that they did not have another purse. I asked the Manager, Mo, what could they do. Mo extended the following options: 1) Take the already 20% off or 2) Remove the purse from the floor and return it. Is it me or is the first option unfair? So, you're going to sale me a damaged item for the already 20% discount and NOT even offer at least an additional 10% off. If not you're removing and returning the damaged item. Mo definitely needs a better course in being an effective manager and could use a few lessons from her pleasant staff, Leslie and the male staffer ( I wish I got his name, but could not locate him upon my exit). I really hope that Mo did indeed remove the damaged purse from the floor and did not allow another customer to unknowingly purchase a $250+ purse with a broken...
Read moreTheir stuff is beautiful and the curation is great. I love how the products have a beautiful calming aesthetic, and a lot are handmade. Fairtrade with a modern aesthetic. They're fairly priced as well.
EDITED: I actually had a not so great experience with an associate as I was trying to purchase an item on promotion I should have qualified for. I asked for help from customer service when they couldn't help me in person, and CS was immediately on top of it to rectify the situation. The associates I dealt with the next day were very pleasant and accommodating, and I'm a fan again!
As a fairtrade business owner myself, I understand that associates are the face of your brand, and in this case one associate kinda let Sugarboo down. But I also know how hard it is to consistently find good people every single time. To me what's important is that when it came down to it, the company had my back. At their very core, they're a great company with beautiful products, supporting socially conscious makers and artisan businesses, and trying their best to do right by us customers. They're...
Read moreToday we were walking around the market taking in all the shops and restaurants for the first time. After grabbing a drink at a vendor just outside this store, we walked in. I was really excited because we don’t have this company at home and I look for them in the Atlanta area. No more than 20 feet inside the door, my husband pulled his mask down to take a quick sip of the drink in his hand (a minimum of 10 feet away from any other humans besides myself). A blonde lady working the register yelled at him over multiple customers in line very loudly to “pull his mask up, no exceptions” and everyone turned to look. It was incredibly embarrassing and belittling. We understand everyone is doing their best and trying to navigate tricky times, but yelling at a customer, especially when there was ZERO signage on the entrance, when it comes to drinks, was a little unnecessary. We promptly turned and left the store. Though we’ve had amazing customer service at other locations of this company, I would never be apt to walk in this one again when we...
