I am usually not one to leave a poor review like this, but sadly it was our wedding day and it was jarring to have a poor service experience like this. Overall the experience was poor mainly due to the hotel being severely understaffed.
We stayed at the hotel for our wedding night and upon check-in, my husband to be was greeted with a rude experience. I had called the front desk a week prior informing them he would be checking in on behalf of us and when he arrived he was met with an incredibly rude demeanor and genuinely I was shocked to here this. We were getting married THAT day and there was no additional touch to ensure our stay was met with hospitality. Later we found out that most of our guests were greeted with the same attitude.
Additionally, we had requested two weeks in advance for a list of guests who were staying under our room discount to send a welcome gift, but I never heard back from the sales rep. Mind you the previous rep who had left was wonderful to work with, but the new person has a complete lack of answering emails or calls.
When we arrived to the hotel that night for our stay we requested the bell hop to assist us with our belongings up to the room. Again, we were met with sub-par hospitality... The valet grabbed the cart and pushed it at us with a frank "here you go." Did not offer to help load our belongings out of the limo and cart them up to our room... Clearly we had just gotten married as I was in my dress and my husband in his suit. I am sure the look I gave the valet was one of bewilderment.
The only positive experience was the room, it was nice and the room we had requested. When we called the front desk for more water, well we were again met with sub-par hospitality.... The front desk has removed their phone from the receiver so no calls could go through, we repeatedly tried to call while we were in the room for an hour. Then I went downstairs to confront them about it he said oh that's funny and placed the phone back on the receiver.
Lastly, a few of the guests and us went to breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and AGAIN sub-par hospitality. There were only two people working the restaurant. We had to seat our selves and get our own table settings. Then waiting 30 minutes for the serve to even look at us as he was constantly going back and forth to one table instead of working the room --- might want to ensure your staff if properly trained to wait tables. Then we waited over an hour for our food and the food was brought out at different times, while two of the guest didn't get their food at all. When one of our guests confronted the waiter the manager offered us cocktails at 10 am -- why would we want that? Comp the food! We then asked for the check immediately and waited AGAIN 20 min before us all having to go stand at the bar and tell the waiter what we ordered.
Overall I am severely disappointed at the service of this hotel. It's not up to my standards and frankly shouldn't be up to Hilton's either. There is a real issue with understaffing and you guys need to figure it out. We should have paid a little extra to stay at the Claremont Hotel...
Read moreStayed here for 2 nights while in Atlanta for work. I am a Hilton gold member so I booked 3 rooms for myself and my co-workers and paid a deposit in advance. Our stay was off to a good start when we checked in. The staff was incredibly friendly and offered us champagne and cookies. My room wasn't large but it was cozy and efficient. The bed and pillows were both on the firm side and not entirely comfortable but the sheets were clean which is certainly more important. Nice size bathroom but missing the toiletries that I often see in other hotel rooms like shower cap, q-tips etc and the water in the shower got luke warm but wouldn’t get hot. Walls were suuuper thin. Could hear the person in the room next to me sneezing, flushing the toilet, showering and talking to their wife on the phone. Wasn’t a problem when it came to sleeping but could see how it would be if you had a loud neighbor.
When I came back to my room after my first day out I assumed no one had been in there because the bed wasn't made, but then I noticed that my towels had been changed so I guess they had? Interesting that they provide a sort of half service. There was also no way that I could find to put up a "do not disturb" sign on the door or I would have. I used the gym early one morning and it is modestly equipped but on the small size. There are 2 treadmills, a peloton bike and 2 sets of weights. If you are in there alone or with one other person it is fine but with 3 people it becomes a squeeze.
The restaurant in the hotel, Mrs. P's is sufficient to get the job done but the food is mediocre. The hot tea options in the morning were black tea or lipton, nothing without caffeine. The yogurt parfait was on par with an airport grab and go. The yogurt was unpleasantly grainy, the granola was overly sugary and the sprinkle of fruit was a day past fresh.
The morning of our check out I received email invoices for 2 of the 3 rooms, one of which they inexplicably charged me $3400 for. They were unable to fix it when I was checking out because the manager was not in for the day so I had to call several times once I got back home to make sure it was fixed. The manager was very nice about it and said that he had fixed it first thing when he got in that morning but I hadn't received and updated invoice by e-mail and was still missing the other invoice for our 3rd room. He was friendly and helpful with getting it fixed for me but it was an inconvenience I would have preferred not to have to deal with.
The location was convenient for us and a close uber ride to restaurants and our conference as well as being walkable to Ponce City Market. Good option for a quick stay in ATL but room for...
Read moreMy partner and I wanted to get away from our world and celebrate my birthday in the city this year. Honestly, the hotel itself was lovely. Decor, great. Initial hospitality, great. Our bartender (I forget her name but I think she's from Baltimore) was very welcoming and made us spectacular drinks and suggested the amazing crab cakes. We had a nice corner room with a balcony, robes were set for us and the bed was comfy. The short walk to Ponce was the icing on the cake. Now, I know you're probably wondering why I gave the hotel 2 stars. Well... unfortunately after checking out of our amazing stay, the valet returned my partner's car with all of her belongings dumped onto the passenger seat. The car was clearly rummaged around in and the valet person handed her the car as if nothing happened. After carefully going through the car, we realized her Cartier sunglasses were missing. We already had a bad feeling about where they were parking the cars that were valeted (across the street, behind a building in a sketchy parking lot)- since we had a balcony room, we were able to view this. The car had no broken windows so either A) a valet representative went through her things and took her glasses or B) the valet representative did not lock the doors and someone on the street went through it.
We immediately asked for a manager and after waiting, a hotel representative came out to tell us that she removed the $40 valet charge and that it's all she can do. She suggested the valet attendants call their manager, and they did but the valet manager (Adam James) only offered to remove the valet charge. There was no concern, no apologies, no urgency to resolve this matter. No one wanted to take accountability. We eventually found information on how to submit the claim and my partner and we are now awaiting next steps on how to be reimbursed for her $1200 sunglasses. This is unacceptable. If you are looking to stay at this hotel, take a Uber because the valet is not to be trusted and they don't take responsibility for their actions. The hotel was great but unfortunately, we can't come back here because of this...
