A Fourth-Time Guest's Love Letter to Scout Living
Five Stars â An Urban Sanctuary That Keeps Drawing Me Back
After four stays at Scout Living, I can confidently say this boutique gem has mastered the art of creating an urban retreat that feels both sophisticated and soul-soothing. My latest visit, timed perfectly for the Atlanta Jazz Festival and precious time with friends, reminded me why I keep returning to this exceptional property.
The Magic of True Tranquility What sets Scout Living apart isn't just its prime locationâit's the remarkable peace you'll find within its walls. Despite being nestled in one of Atlanta's most vibrant neighborhoods, the hotel maintains an almost ethereal quiet that allows you to truly decompress. The ingenious pocket doors separating the bedroom create what I can only describe as a "comfy cocoon"âa private sanctuary where the outside world simply melts away. Whether you're recovering from a late night at the jazz festival or need restorative sleep before exploring the city, these thoughtful design elements ensure your rest is never compromised.
Service That Remembers Your Name The Scout Living team delivers the kind of personalized service that makes you feel like a valued regular rather than just another guest. Cam, the valet, handled my car with the efficiency and care of someone who genuinely takes pride in his workâno small feat when dealing with Atlanta's parking challenges. Brooke's warm professionalism during check-in set the perfect tone for my stay, while Coby ensured my departure was seamless and friendly. It's this consistency in exceptional service across the entire team that transforms a good hotel into an unforgettable experience.
Location That Delivers on Every Promise Scout Living's position is nothing short of strategic brilliance. Within a leisurely stroll, you'll find yourself at Piedmont Park's green expanse, three well-stocked grocery stores for any needs, diverse shopping districts, and the culinary wonderland that is Ponce City Market's food hall. The Atlanta Beltlineâmy go-to for morning walks and evening strollsâruns practically at your doorstep, connecting you to the city's pulse while offering peaceful moments of reflection.
The Crown Jewel: Rooftop Revelations Don't even think about leaving without ascending to the top floor overlook. This hidden sanctuary offers more than just Instagram-worthy skyline viewsâit provides a moment of zen that puts Atlanta's sprawling beauty into perspective. Whether you're watching the sunrise with coffee or unwinding with an evening drink, this space captures the "chill vibe" that defines the Scout Living experience.
The Verdict Scout Living isn't just accommodation; it's a carefully curated experience that understands what discerning travelers truly value. The combination of thoughtful design, impeccable service, unbeatable location, and those special touches that you can't find elsewhere makes this my Atlanta home away from home.
Four stays down, and I'm already planning my fifth. That should tell you everything you...
Read moreWe used a FEMA hotel voucher to stay here for a weekend, but we would not return to stay and pay full price. We also wouldn't recommend this place to friends in general.
Pros:
The staff. Everyone was incredibly nice. Big props to the valet guys who basically sat outside in the cold all day and night without a functioning space heater, yet somehow managed to stay positive and friendly. The location: Central to everywhere we wanted to go.
Cons:
As I stated above, we used a FEMA voucher and weren't supposed to be charged at all. However, I was charged TWICE (~$1000) on 2 different days and was told that it'd be 7-10 business days before I was refunded. Unacceptable. The valet situation: $20/day to have someone park my car in a nearby garage that isn't even private to the property is crazy. It's even crazier that if we were to self-park in that same garage, it costs $30. Like, what? Our digital key code didn't work upon arrival. It took us an additional 20 minutes to get in our room. No TV in the room, fine, whatever, kind of weird. You can request to have one sent up, which we did. (It's some sort of small, HG model on a pole with rolling wheels.) However, when it arrived, the batteries in the remote were dead. The AC situation: You can try to set the AC as low as you want, but it only went down 3 degrees in 12 hours? We should be able to control the temperature in our room. The "queen" bed definitely wasn't a queen. It was, at best, a full. Also, having the "bedroom" right by the door is a bad idea. We heard everything and everyone at all hours. I say "bedroom" because it is hardly a room. It is a bed surrounded by 3.5 walls. We had a "city view" room. The "view" was of another building. Check out was @ 11, but the maids started knocking @ 9am/woke us up @ 9am, then again @ 10am.
Also, for the amount they're charging per night, I'd expect some sort of grab-and-go breakfast situation down in the lobby. There was nothing.
I understand that this is also used for longer-term stays, so maybe it serves people better for that purpose ... But for a 2-night hotel stay, this...
Read moreWe are frequent travelers to Atlanta and are always looking to try something different. Scout is definitely a different concept. It has so much potential to be a great property, but itâs not quite there yet.
PROS: property is brand new, rooms are spacious, location canât be beat. You are steps away from everything Ponce Market has to offer. They let us check-in early which I appreciated and I loved the ease of the digital key.
CONS: No signs, anywhere directing you where to go. It might not sound like a big deal, but when you are dragging all your luggage in circles for over an hour, trust me, itâs no fun. The parking at the courtyard was completely hidden (doesnât even look like itâs a road) and know where does it say parking until you are right up on it. The directions they give you to find the garage is wholly inadequate. And I agree with another reviewer about the garage doors, all the doors were locked and again, no signs you are at Scout. There are no TVs in the units, most likely because it is a long term apartment complex as well as a hotel, but for the nightly rate, there I feel there should be at least one TV, IMHO. Lastly, we tried to call the customer service number that was given to us at least 5 times, and no one ever answered.
All and all, it is a very nice property. If they would fix some of the small stuff, we would definitely stay...
