I wouldn’t doubt that my cashier was at the very least flustered by the three transactions she performed during my visit to Anthro’s Ponce Location. Nonetheless, her attitude towards me was far beyond snobby and rude. It was down right bigoted, disdainful and deplorable. Not only her tone, but her body language very blatantly said that my presence alone was upsetting. And with each question I asked and after every transaction her disdain grew. You literally would have had to be there to see the eye rolling, hear her huffs and puffs and feel the irritation rising off of her to really get where I’m coming from. Moving forward a bit, while counting out the cash amount of $78.06 which I was to receive after my price adjustment I asked that she give me $80.06 and attempted to hand her $2.00 assuming that my very simple request would be met. Instead she refused using the excuse that giving anything besides what the register directed would go against store policy. Knowing this was complete BS I asked to speak with a manager assuming that the manager would correct what I knew to be misinformation, however, the young lady who claimed to be a manager echoed her co-workers lie thus placing me in the wrong. Again, even though I knew better I chose not to argue and instead went on to apologize explaining that I’ve been a customer of Anthropologie and Free People for nearly decades and had never heard of any such policy which I later confirmed after contacting corporate who confirmed that no such policy exists. She also made it seem as though the price adjustment for the sales items I’d purchased only the day before was given as a courtesy when in all actuality because the additional percentage off of sale hadn’t started until the following day all of the items I’d purchase previously were indeed eligible for return as well as the 40% price adjustment that she so kindly granted. After leaving and still very angry but contained, I went onto Free People, Anthro’s sister store and asked for the policy as it relates to my previous transaction to which the manager explained that no such policy exists. I then explained what had just taken place in detail and she herself apologized for the treatment I received. But an apology isn’t enough. Not from anyone that is not the offender. I am now waiting to see how corporate will respond to her very obvious bigoted behaviors.

Read moreThis was not a planned shopping trip at Anthropologie because, honestly, I don’t even like to shop. Being heavier than I wish, I hate trying on clothes! However, I am surprising my husband with a meal at a special place and really needed a cute dress! Enter Victorya and Maggie at the Ponce City Market location of Anthropologie. Victorya made me feel comfortable about her ability to style someone on the upper end of the store’s size range and, for a future time when I’m not in a big hurry, let me know that more sizes are available through the website on many items.. Maggie was super helpful in the dressing room. Even though I tried the four selections that went into the dressing room, I could have stuck with the very first thing that Victorya chose because it was perfect. Then we found shoes to match (that will match any outfit!) and I couldn’t be happier! I look forward to seeing these two truly lovely (inside and out)...
Read moreI absolutely loved the energy at Anthropologie—warm, welcoming, and full of people who genuinely wanted to help me find the perfect pair of jeans. From the moment I walked in, MD greeted me with such a calming presence, setting the tone for an amazing shopping experience. MD took the lead in pulling pieces for me to try, while Victoria, Susana, and Gaby all chimed in with their own recommendations, hyping me up and making me feel truly supported.
Before stopping at Anthro, I had already hit three other denim stores, tried on way too many jeans, and even had dinner before heading home. But something told me to make one last stop—and I’m so glad I did. It ended up being a true team effort, and thanks to MD, Victoria, Susana, and Gaby, I walked out with a pair that felt just right. More than that, I left feeling seen and appreciated. Thank you all for such a fantastic experience—can’t wait to do it...
