Dunham's Sports — Local services in Auburn

My son and I visited the Auburn, Indiana Dunhams, the evening of 5-4-2022. This store lacks customer service. First, he was looking for baseball pants and cleats. With the season just starting, the stock was very low. He only had one option for cleats. We had to track down a employee to ask if they had anymore cleats. He said they didn’t receive very many baseball cleats, what is on the shelf is it. The sizes left were practically 11 & 12’s. My son settled for a janky pair and grabbed some baseball socks, we headed for the front of the store. Up front there were two girls gossiping, as they were when we walking in 45 minutes earlier. I proceeded to ask the cashier, she’s probably 15 I’d say. She’s new never seen her before. If she had any available coupons by chance. She had a stack of them right in front of her… She was rude as all get out. “Said no!” “Get one from your email.” I was in disbelief how she talked to me. I proceeded to check my email, no coupons. I then asked if I could use my Kroger card, in which I’ve done in all my times I’ve shopped with Dunhams. “NO! That’s for Kroger employees only.” Untrue. Her attitude was totally uncalled for! She was so disrespectful. She needs to be retrained in her job position. And learn how to talk to people. If Zero stars could be...

The staff is always helpful and friendly, overall there's a good selection of many different sporting types. the only reason I left 4 stars is the overall value. While most things are priced reasonably enough the name brand big ticket items are rarely on sale and the confusing coupon system almost always excludes those most expensive name brands. It gets even more confusing when you make a purchase and there are coupons printed off and handed to you and when you return to use them you find out the coupon isn't even valid for another week, after making a trip to the store and going through the effort of finding something that isn't on that list of exclusions and finally finding something in stock and in your size you're not going to return it to the rack and hope in another week when your coupon is valid it's still there. Again the staff is nice and always willing to help you and it's of no fault of theirs that the prices and coupon / saving system is a little wonky so I didn't score any peas for those reasons. Overall probably the best value still as far as the box store sporting goods retailers...

Very disappointed with the store's exchange policy. My daughter purchased a shirt for my husband at Dunham's Sports in Auburn for Christmas. The shirt was one size too big. We tried to exchange the shirt 3 days after Christmas for the very same shirt. All the tags were still on the shirt and It was obvious the shirt had not been worn at all and that it was the very same shirt that was currently hanging on their rack in the store. They refused to exchange it because I didn't have a receipt. When I tried to explain to them my daughter had sent in the receipt to receive a rebate for another item she purchased that day from them, they could have cared less. I wasn't asking for a refund or to exchange it for something different. A simple exchange for the very same item should not be an issue. I will never go back to Dunham's to buy anything again.
