Double Decker Austin — Local services in Austin

This wasn't a planned activity for us as we were first time visitors to the city. We were in the Austin Visitor Center looking at things to do when they made the "last call" announcement for the tour. The spur-of-the-moment decision turned out to be an excellent one! Barrett, the guide, was personable & very informative about the history and landmarks of the city. Michelle, the driver, did a fantastic job of navigating the route. Due to limited time, we stayed on the bus but they also have a hop on/hop off option that will be our choice next time. This allows visitors to see key sites in the city without having to walk or transfer to alternative transportation. We discovered several things we would like to do on our next visit. We had a blast on this tour! It was our first time visiting Austin, and with only a couple of days in town, we wanted to pack in as much as possible. This 90-minute tour was the perfect way to explore downtown and get the lay of the land.

The top deck was a fantastic spot for taking in the awesome views—bonus points for the refreshing breeze on a nice day! Safety was clearly a priority, which we appreciated. Phil, our tour guide, kept things lively with his mix of Austin history and humor, while Captain Mike expertly piloted us through the streets.
