WARNING: Attend this location with caution and I would not recommend parking here or leaving your car if you do.
Stopped here after a long ride. Grabbed Gatoradess from the connecting gas station because it was the only thing open at the time. Walked around the area to kill time and wait for some food to open. Initially I panicked thinking my truck was stolen so went into the the gas station again to see if there was anything they could do to help. He said that cars a towed if left attended. I asked if he had called and he said no. Thinking it was just a misunderstanding I asked for a receipt of the Gatorade I purchased and things took a dark turn.
The employee(Said his name was Miguel) would not provide me the receipt. I'm not sure the legality of this but at the very least it was poor customer service and very odd behavior given the circumstance. He could easily pull it to help me at the very minimum. I was the only person inside, he was not busy.
After a headache of calling numbers to track down my truck I learned it was impounded literally blocks away. Was charged over 300 to get it back and told from the tow truck driver that someone called him to come get it. Which means the gas station attendant lied about getting the vehicle towed and wouldn't give me a receipt to prove I was using the lot as a customer and for it's intended purpose. Very grimy and disappointing.
To the owner of the business it would be appreciated if you covered the towing cost given the circumstances of me being punished for attending your business and happy to take the review down if this is just a misunderstanding or a single bad actor. I live close and come here pretty frequently. But given the the current circumstances and my recent experience I will never be back and don't suggest anyone else go either.
If anyone else has experienced something similar please comment so I can look into this further. Would just avoid this place if I were you. Not...
Read moreGreat Mexican food truck! Authentic flavors of tacos and food from around Monterey Nuevo León. Awesome lean barbacoa! Goes great in any of their fixings. I went for their official grand opening and because it was my first time, I decided to try their written daily special "Nunca he venido". It means "never been here". :) It might become a staple due to popularity. The owner and his family are super nice and friendly. It's definitely a family operation. The food was delicious. Some stuff was spicy, but not taste killer. The tacos de vapor (or canasta) were delicious and tasted like a tamal taco and not greasy whatsoever. Very tasty! The Empalme (kind of a quesadilla with beans dipped in a red sauce), was delicious, but I used a lot of napkins by the time I finished that one! Maybe a fork and knife could help that one out! Didn't get to try their breakfast menu, but I'm sure it's gotta be just as good as the grub we had for lunch. I was too full to try anything else and seriously wanted to try menudo from the other truck nearby at first! LoL
This food truck is in a gas station parking lot and it gets full at lunch time, and in the weekends it's got both the stadium construction workers and locals. The great thing though is that there are a total of 5 good trucks in the parking lot so you have plenty of good...
Read moreInteresting variant to the taco trucks here. The menu has some fun fried hard-shell tacos to go with traditional fare. I had three things.
Regia: a two-meat wrap that showcased the meat well. I think they should go with a smaller tortilla, but I wasn't in a car, so maybe this is to create less of a mess
Doradito: very fun dish, this is a deep-fried hard shell taco. The meat is five stars, that barbacoa is tremendous. The only thing is that the oil seeps into the doradito, so the dish is very oily. Fixable, but why this is four stars.
Empalme: a fried mulita, or a fried tiny quesadilla. This had meat beans and cheese. I had bistec and again the bistec is salted properly (meaning a little bit heavily). For this one, I think the beans should be changed. They're refried, and I would've liked the thinner paste.
This is fantastic hangover cure food, and I think with some tweaks this would be a unique five-star answer. Their agua fresca was refreshing and their salsas were spiced hot but not too hot. I think the doradito or the empalme, with the oil drained, with pico, would be a...
