I can't believe I haven't made this review yet!
I absolutely adore EVERYTHING about Halal Taza! The entire family, the ambiance, the food, the service, the hospitality, the vibes, oh, everything! Amazing team, amazing food! And let me stress, that never changes!
"I ain't kiddin'", this is truly Austin's treasure! Great representation and experience of the Mediterranean cuisine and culture!
These are the greatest owners/team I've ever encountered in the food service industry! They're in their own league! I'm hooked on them! They're so unforgettable! I can't wait to eat here again when I'm back in Austin!
I think I pretty much tried most things on the menu, but my favorite thing, or go-to, was definitely the Beef/Chicken Shawarma over fries! It's dressed exactly the same as the rice plate, but they happily substituted fries per my request! It's sooooooooooooo good! It's impeccable! The best I've had! Oh! The Baklava was a first for me, and it's heavenly! Haha! I was nervous about trying Falafel, but since everything I had already been ordering was flavorful, I thought, why not! It did not disappoint! It was delicious! The food is plentiful and wholesome and the prices are great too! Check them...
Read moreIncredible! I went yesterday & ordered the Lamb Wrap + French fries. Portions are MASSIVE- I can easily get two meals out of both the fries + wrap, which I really appreciate. The lamb immediately stood out to me & I honestly can’t stop thinking about it today- it was so flavorful & tender, probably the best lamb I’ve ever had. The vegetables were fresh, & the fries were really well seasoned. I probably won’t get the fries again just for myself (only because I won’t eat them all by myself- they’re DELICIOUS, would definitely get if I go back with a friend!), but I can’t wait to go back to try the pita bread & hummus, especially since the pita was so delicious in my wrap. The woman who assisted me at the counter was super sweet & just had a very calm, easy way about her. Happy to support this sweet family, & thrilled to have such a delicious truck right across...
Read moreAfter my third experience, I continue to give them five stars. The people I ate with told me that I was wrong about the falafel, which I didn’t think was fantastic before. I don’t think I even mentioned it in my first review because I’m no falafel expert.
At first I thought it was just ok. Good quality food and nothing wrong with the flavor, but not spectacular. Others could easily disagree. Then I put their hotsauce on my lamb. Awww, man. It makes it great. High vinegar content like a Cholula or Louisiana, but red pepper flakes that kick up the heat to about a commercial salsa level hot and something else is added to thicken it. I don't know why this combination of thickened vinegar and heat and isn't more common. I almost made myself sick trying to shovel the deliciousness...
