I recently visited FSK Mall Dick's Sporting Goods in search of Maryland gear, and while my experience was generally positive, there were a few notable aspects to share.
Upon entering, the store was well-organized and the staff warmly greeted me. I immediately headed towards the apparel section, excited to find something that would showcase my Maryland pride. However, I was somewhat disappointed by the limited selection available. While they did have a few standard items like t-shirts and caps a few sweatshirts, But they were extremely limited in size and selection, especially for hoodies, jerseys, or even Maryland-themed accessories.
Despite this, the quality of the items they did carry was decent and I managed to find Maryland shirt that I liked. The staff were friendly and eager to assist, checking in to see if I needed any help.
The check-out process was smooth, and I appreciated the overall atmosphere of the store. Itās clear they prioritize customer satisfaction. If the selection of Maryland gear had been more extensive, I would have easily given this experience a five-star rating. Nevertheless, while Ill definitely be back for other needs, I'll certainly look for other options for and Maryland branded apparel. Why would a sporting goods store in the heart of Terrapin country have such a limited maybe 20x20 section in the back of their store like it was can afterthought. I'm sure many Terps fans shop...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHonestly this store is updated and beautiful, but the customer service is awful. I went to exchange a jacket I got as a gift. I didnāt receive the jacket for a few months after my dad bought it because we donāt live close to one another. I had the receipt but it was āexpiredā. I was told I couldnāt exchange the jacket because it was expired. ListenāI understand having a policy on getting refunded. Have a policy where after 90 days, itās store credit only. But I just wanted to do an even exchange. The icing on the cake was after I was told I couldnāt make a return, the clerk told me āI could still buy the jacketā. Laughable.
On top of that, I was returning shoes that were half a size too big. I didnāt even try them on when I received them as a gift because I know my size in Brooks running shoes. The cashier inspected the bottom of the running shoes and then told me she had to go get manager approval.
I will be purchasing clothes directly from the retailer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is one of the few sporting goods stores in the area for us and based on multiple trips for camping, sports (soccer, basketball, softball...), and other things I would say this store is mediocre. I have never once received outright bad service, but I have also never received exceptional service. The employees always appear to be interested in something else and wish they were doing something else. They make the obligatory ask if we need assistance and then fade away quietly to amuse themselves. The prices are also not the best. Generally I use the store to get an idea on what I would like to get (hold, get a feel for, etc.) And then find the same or comparable item online for much less. We do buy shoes there and they are slightly overpriced but we don't have options to try them on anywhere else. Bottom line, come if you have to, but go somewhere else if there...
