Chos Fish Market — Local services in Baltimore

My go-to for fresh steamed shrimp with old bay. However, I must knock off 1 star bc they always assume I am paying with food stamps and when they realize I am paying cash, their negative attitude suddenyl becomes positive. That saddens me and makes me wonder in what ways do they infantilize and criminalize other patrons. What other stories and fantasies do the Cho’s project onto the patrons of Lexington Market to pass the time? All I know is that they aren’t really relational until they see the bank card. In 2023 that is not the type of relationship I want with the nabe fish monger. Since Cho’s appears here to stay and I was born in Baltimore- it would be helpful if the relationship with customers were better and more empathetic. It would help if my 6ft 3 self felt welcomed at the counter, that way I wouldn’t have to leave their stall and do side missions.
