Elevators: Yes. No technical issues. Roomy and clean.
The room: A friend and I stayed here for a concert at CFG Bank Arena. It was about a 6 minute walk to and from the Arena so that was wonderful (and why I booked). The rooms were kind of shabby, with stains in the hallways and on the carpet, ottoman, curtains, and walls. But surfaces were clean and nothing was broken. (Lighting was OK - depends on if your plans include dolling yourself up for an outing. :) Our bathroom light was not working upon arrival, but maintenance staff arrived within 30 minutes to fix it after calling the front desk and he fixed it within 5 minutes. The lobby was comfortable, safe, and clean.
Price: We paid about $400 total for one overnight in a room with 2 queen beds and a bathroom, as well as parking. Prices may have been ticked up due to the concert.
Location: I’m not from a city, so it was a bit confusing finding the proper entrance for me, but once inside the gate I felt safe and comfortable. Lots of traffic outside, but it’s Baltimore.
Food: A continental breakfast was available in the morning but we did not partake. I didn’t see the food so no comment. We DoorDashed to the lobby the night before and that went smoothly.
Staff: Pleasant, welcoming, and helpful. They were really busy this particular weekend due to the concert I’m sure, which slowed service down (i.e., I waited in line to check-in for about 20 minutes), but the 2 agents at the front desk went out of their way to make sure I and other guests had our needs met. Check-in and check-out were easy, Wi-Fi and parking questions were thoroughly answered, and we got good tips and suggestions for hot spots like restaurants and bars nearby. Again, maintenance staff was quick and thorough while attending to our room.
Parking: There is a parking garage next to the hotel which can be paid at the desk or upon exiting the garage itself. Online says $35 but I think I paid $50 for 1 overnight. Still, not a terrible price for me to park off-street overnight. They collected my parking garage ticket at the front desk after I parked and charged it to my room, then I used that receipt to scan out of the parking garage the next day. I’m not sure, but I think there was a fee every time you exit and re-enter the garage, but I didn’t have to do that so double-check with staff if that’s part of your plans.
Overall: If attending an event at CFG Bank Arena again, this spot would be ideal for me to stay at again. However, if visiting Baltimore for another reason or an event at a different location or for longer than one night, I’d probably opt for a better up-kept place. That’s totally my preference. However, I wouldn’t be disappointed to stay here again. All it needs are some renovations like new carpeting and the replacing of stained...
Read moreWe booked a room for 2 nights. The location was close to Camden Yards, the National Aquarium and Inner Harbor, which was nice. We really just needed a clean place to sleep & shower. However… as soon as we walked in our room, it REEKED of weed. It’s legal in MD, but geez… it permeated everything. My husband mentioned it at the front desk, the guy just chuckled. There was a lighter on the floor next to our bed and a broken metal hook of some kind on the floor, not sure they actually vacuum the rooms. The sink is located in the room outside the bathroom, which is common. The faucet shot water everywhere, leaking out both sides, so we had to pile towels & washcloths around it but our items still got all wet. The TV did not work and had to be reset. There was no hair dryer despite what the amenities say. I didn’t pack one because I’ve never stayed at a hotel the DIDN’T have a hair dryer. The room key cards only worked some of the time, which was irritating. The refrigerator froze all of our water bottles that were on the bottom shelf of the door. We ran them under hot water, which led to flooding of the counter of the sink, regardless of the pile of towels placed there. We had a room for 4 adults but only 2 towels, one hand towel & 1 washcloth. When my husband went to get more clean towels they didn’t have any, we would have to wait until some were laundered. We didn’t hear other guests, so other than sirens outside it was fairly quiet. There was a pool which still had the winter cover on it, so during our “excessive heat warning” 100 degree visit it was a bummer. We were told we would get a discounted rate of $36/day in the parking garage next door but when we left to see some sights after being parked for 26 hours, we were charged $90 to leave the garage. They were supposed to tell us to give them a cell # so they could text us a QR code to use to come and go at the reduced daily rate. They did not tell us that little tidbit of info. So, yes, it’s close to most of the places we wanted to see, and it wasn’t noisy other than the ice machine. Other than that, thumbs down. We didn’t expect a 5 star resort, but we expected amenities listed, not to get high when we walked in the room and key cards & a sink that worked. Quite disappointed. Hopefully they will take this as a way to...
Read moreWe tried to book a room here and the front desk manager seemed as if she didn’t want to accommodate us. Her name was Jennifer or Jessica, she’s Caucasian with glasses. She made us wait for several hours before we could attempt to check in, then during check in she sent away the lady she was training who offered to help us and decided to start making up outrageous charges that she would add to the room. When we originally asked about booking she told us our rooms would be the room rate plus taxes and fees, a little under $200. Then when it was time to book she tried to add parking, that was ok, she added a “safe” fee even though we didn’t need the safe, never heard of such a fee, she added a game day fee, and early check in fee and what took the cake was our total would’ve been 398 after all the fees, this lady then said “We’ll your total is 398.42 but your card will be charged an even $400. I asked her why, she replied that’s just what happens. Could not explain any off this. Even the customers behind us in the lobby agreed that all those extra charges and fees were outrageous. We ended up booking somewhere else after this person wasted hours of our time, not to mention we were traveling with children. I’m writing a review to make whoever runs this location aware of how this lady is doing business at their front desk, I have never had such a sour experience at a days inn location and our family travels ALOT. The “front desk manager” you guys have is not good for business and needs a coaching or maybe renewed training especially on fees for customers when booking. The fees were okay, the way she was adding them on and could not explain what and why regarding them was what made my husband and I very uneasy. Booking online might be sufficient for this location if this person is there. She also threaten that we wouldn’t be able to do an early check in if we didnt do it with her and she was getting off at 11am, if we didnt immediately book 1 room with her for a 1 night stay at the cost of $400 we would have to wait until 4pm check-in and could pay normal prices. That was outrageous to me, she made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I will never try booking with this specific location ever again. We live and...
