My wife and I visited here on October 7 and 8, 2024 while touring Bar Harbor village and Acadia NP. We enjoyed walking around the pier and snapping photos of beautiful Bar Harbor and all of the boats anchored just offshore. It also has a good-sized pay-by-plate parking lot, but if you plan to park here, you'll need to arrive early in the morning (right at 8:00 am) or it will fill up by 9:00 during peak tourist season. This pier is also a great place to watch the lobster boats unload their catch into refrigerator trucks. There is a restaurant and shopping arcade on the southwest side of the lot, as well as clean public restrooms.

We stayed in town for two nights and used this parking area a few times. It’s the best spot to see the harbor and start exploring the town. The area is beautiful with plenty to see and do. If you arrive early, you can watch the fishermen heading out on their boats for the day. Parking in town is limited but managed well. There are a lot of spaces, but with heavy traffic, it gets harder to find one as the day goes on. I recommend arriving early or giving yourself extra time to park. Kiosks are located throughout town where you can pay for parking and add more time if needed. Parking is free from 9 PM to 8 AM.

This pier is a lovely spot in Bar Harbor village—perfect for a peaceful walk with scenic views of the harbor, boats, and nearby islands. A great place to relax, enjoy the ocean breeze, and snap some beautiful photos. It was raining and no one but us on the pier.

Easy parking directly on the wharf. $4/hr

Watch out for cruise ship traffic!!! Town was a madhouse with TWO LARGE cruises in port at the same time. Just parked for 15 minutes for the view and left. Day trippers/weekly tourists will bail out with that influx. Boats departed at 5/7pm respectively so crowed may have thinned...
