To be fair, I did not go on this tour. I bought the tour for 4 family members who visited for the first time. I have been previously and got a 5 star tour. This one wasn’t it. According to those who went the tour was nothing like my experience. Presentation can make or break these type of tours, and unfortunately the guide did not deliver in that aspect. Doug showed up and they thought he was just another customer for a while. They stated at times he would turn and talk away from people making it very hard to hear as they started out in the park. After some hard to follow “tales” they moved to the balance rock area. There, they stated they learned more about what the bed and breakfast places had to offer than any ghost stories. They said Doug was very nice but may have just been having an off day because they did not experience anything like what I told them my experience was. They left the tour early and spotted another group being led by lantern light and a clear guide to the tour in another area. They wanted to join that group but also did not want to disrespect the guide or the company by jumping in. They looked up videos of previous tours and were disappointed because all the ones they found were night and day differences to their experience. I have been on dozens of ghost tours.around.the.country and this was one of the worse. I made.it through a little over an hour and had to bail out. Good.idea to do waivers since your guide had the only light and she walked so far ahead of the group the rest of us were on our own. I took out my phone and used the flashlight to light up the path and another person.did the same. She was so busy visiting with a couple attendees in the front she was oblivious to the discomfort she was putting the group.through. She knew the stories and you could tell she had.told them before but she is not a storyteller. Nothing she told us was spooky. It was good she brought pictures but there was so much more she could.have. done to set.the mood. Maybe wear.something spooky. Recently had a terrific Tidbit Tasting Tour with my wife, two daughters and their boyfriends in separate parts of the country. Had three boxes delivered to different locations and we all logged on together. It was fantastic! Plenty of great info and history regarding each snack in the package, including lots we did not know. Our guide was fabulous, kept things moving, let us chat with each other and addressed all our questions. We even got follow up emails with clarification to questions we asked and a family recipe for a cake we can't wait to try. Awesome way to gather and connect during COVID times.
