I was in the tricky position of booking lodging months ahead of time in a city I'd never seen. I was therefore reluctant to put our group in any one place for more than a few days, in case I accidentally committed us to an extended bad experience. I was especially worried about Seacroft because the price was so reasonable. I didn't have to worry! It's simply a GREAT value, no strings attached! The place is clean, kept up beautifully, but decorated to maintain the historic charm. It's just out-of-the-way enough to be quiet and relaxing on a rainy day but close enough to town to easily walk everywhere, AND the Shore Path is visible from the driveway! Our group of four booked the two-bedroom one-bathroom suite on the back side, and it was absolutely perfect for us. The rooms were spacious and we had a small common area/hallway to meet up and plan our days. Our hostess was gracious and welcoming. We were able to get our laundry done for $10, which was key in allowing us to travel light(ish.)||||We had just enough luxury to feel spoiled- with an atmosphere that felt like...
Read moreThe Seacroft Inn was a great place to stay for two nights as we explored Acadia National Park. Our host was welcoming and knowledgeable, with great suggestions of activities and things to do in the area. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, with morning coffee on the porch. The location can't be beat: walkable to all attractions in downtown Bar Harbor and steps from the water. A special thank you to Bunny for sending a lost pair of glasses! We checked out extremely early to catch sunrise on Cadillac Mountain and didn't realize the glasses were missing until we were home. The glasses were in our mailbox by the time we returned home; she went above and beyond to take care of us, both during and after our stay! We would definitely recommend Seacroft to anyone visiting and will stay again if we're...
Read moreThe location is perfectly situated on a dead end street off the main street through town so you can walk to the shoreline or center of town in just 2 minutes. The room was very clean and everything worked. Our room had a few chairs on a private deck that we enjoyed. Bunny was a joy to talk with and provided useful information and tips. She clearly has a passion for what she is doing. She provides a "coffee room" so those of us early risers can get good fresh-brewed coffee beginning at 6:30 a.m. The building and grounds are very well cared for. We would stay...
