I took my 15-year-old daughter to Ulta Salon to get blue chunky highlights on her virgin hair for her birthday, and it turned into an absolute nightmare. We paid $215, and she walked out with severely damaged, fried, and broken hair. The appointment got off to a slow start, and it quickly became clear things weren’t going as planned. The entire process dragged on for hours. By the time she was finally back in the chair, her hair already looked over-processed rubbery and weak. Even though the color didn’t fully take, we were told to check out because the registers were closing. Then came the surprise: we’d need to come back another day to finish the job because the blue didn’t stick. For the price we paid, I expected professionalism and care not a rushed, half-done appointment that left my daughter’s hair compromised from the start. Later the next day, we gently washed her hair because we were told to by Sofia and were horrified by what we saw. It was falling out, felt dry and stretchy like elastic, also the color was bleeding out and became almost impossible to brush through without causing her pain. I used leave-in cream and a detangler to help, but by then, she was in tears. This was exactly what she was afraid of. She had told her stylist, Sofia, that she was nervous, and Sofia reassured her that everything would be fine but that wasn’t the case at all. We noticed visible breakage at the crown and all over her hair. When I brought her back to Ulta to express our concern, the head manager, Delaney, examined it and offered no real accountability. No apology, no concern just a free deep conditioning treatment with no guarantee it would help. I was told that even if I called corporate, nothing would be done because they’d just refer me back to the store. After leaving Ulta, I took my daughter to a trusted professional for a second opinion. She confirmed our worst fears her hair is severely damaged with broken protein bonds. At this point, all we can do is try to hydrate and protect what’s left but it won’t undo the damage. This was supposed to be a joyful experience for my daughter’s birthday something to boost her confidence before starting high school. Instead, it left her embarrassed, heartbroken, and afraid to show her hair. She went in with beautiful, healthy brown hair and left with something that may take years to recover. I would never recommend Ulta Salon especially for hair coloring, and especially not for teens. What we experienced was careless, traumatic, and costly in every sense of the word. Please, save yourself the pain and go somewhere that will treat your hair and your time with the respect...
Read moreI usually enjoy coming to this Ulta however i felt like i was treated horribly when I came in this weekend to do an exchange. I came in on Sunday to make an even exchange since I accidentally purchased two of the same items about a week ago. Cool I get in line so I can be helped, the girl at the front calls me up and I explain to her that I accidentally purchased two bottles of conditioner and that I was trying to make an even exchange and swap the conditioner out for the shampoo. From the get go she looks at me like I’m stupid, and says I need to bring both bottles to do the even exchange, I tell her I brought the one I want to exchange she then tells me in an arrogant way “we can’t do that you need to bring both of them” I’m like okay fine, I can come back another time. No big deal. I do let her know that I also have a pickup order and she rudely tells me I have to go to the pickup area so I walk over there and show her my order information. She gives me the bag with the pickup items and as I’m about to leave she asks me if I’m gonna pay for that bottle that I have in my hand, at that point I’m already angry cause she keeps looking at me like I’m a thief and giving me dirty looks so I catched an attitude and told her I brought this one from home and that it was mine. Either way I felt like I was being discriminated against and judged. Cashiers name was Amber at least that’s what my receipt shows. Either way I’ll probably never go back to that store again and make the hour and a half minute drive to the Austin...
Read moreVery disappointed in your new store here. I went in looking for a specific item and this is what I found..... There was one cashier with several people waiting in line. Two employees giving make overs on customers. No one on the cash register in the back of the store, no manager presence. I asked the cashier where I might find my product, she had no idea, I asked her if there was someone in the store who could help me, her comment was, " isn't there some one on the floor ?" I , of course answered no, there doesn't appear to be. She called some one who didn't know anything either, so I asked if there was a manager to which she said, "oh yeah, I'll call her." She told me where the manager said the product was so I went to look for it myself. A lady met me in the aisle and handed me the product and immediately disappeared into the back of the store where she had apparently been. Your store is really beautiful but if you don't train you managers or salespeople how to make care of your customers you will never make it here in Bastrop. If you had so few employees that don't know where things are why isn't your manager on the floor training them instead of hiding in the back? I will think twice before giving your store a " second chance " again. I hope you fix this problem as your store is very convenient for those of us who live here, but if not I will go somewhere where I can get...
