DermSurgery Associates - Ming H. Jih, M.D. — Local services in Bellaire

The dermatologist Dr. Jih was great and very helpful. However, her office staff is very unprofessional and disorganized. Dr. Jih told me during my appointment in October 2022 that the biopsies she took were benign and would not bother sending them to pathology. On the way out, I paid my copay as I should have and went about my day. Several months later, it appears the office sent me a bill but had an off the wall address that was rejected several times. I finally received the bill to my correct address and paid around $60 in charges that I assume insurance did not cover. Fast forward to March 2023, I receive a very rude and threatening phone call from some pathology place stating I owe them money for services I was not aware of. They too had the same strange random address from Dr. Jih’s office and the bills were getting rejected. The woman at the pathology office kept saying she would send me to collections, I need to pay them now, and that I did not have insurance coverage. I told her to send the bill to my correct address so I could verify she was legit as I was not suppose to have pathology services done, I was not informed by the doctor these services were going to occur, and that I changed insurances in November 2022. I questioned why I am just hearing about this in March the next year. I tried calling billing at Dr. Jih’s office to inquire and billing refuses to speak to me, the front office lady is claiming that they will need to call me back after referring me to pathology, etc. Please get your office in order! I am not sure where these addresses are coming from nor surprise services but this is not right. I wonder how many others this has...

My husband and I are both patients. The wait is always terrible once you arrive. But my biggest complaint is that no one ever returns a phone call! My husband began a treatment she prescribed for a suspicious spot. After two weeks it looked horrible and I called and sent a picture to the staff. No one ever responded. Just got back from another wonderful visit with Dr. Jih! After seeing MANY dermatologists in the Houston area, I became disappointed with the care I was receiving. Having suffered with atopic dermatitis (moderate to severe eczema) my whole life, I have seen many doctors to try to manage this disease—but to no avail.
