During our recent visit to Chaat House in Bellevue, we had the opportunity to try their Hakka noodles and paneer kulcha. Unfortunately, our experience was rather underwhelming. The flavors of both dishes fell flat, leaving much to be desired. Moreover, we found the paneer kulcha lacking in sufficient paneer filling. In contrast, our previous experience at Dosa House was much more enjoyable, as their food had better flavors and quality.
Hakka Noodles: The Hakka noodles at Chaat House failed to impress. The dish lacked the authentic blend of spices and seasoning typically found in well-prepared Hakka noodles. The flavors were dull and lacked the characteristic tang and robustness that make this dish stand out. The texture of the noodles was satisfactory but couldn't compensate for the lackluster taste.
Paneer Kulcha: We also tried the paneer kulcha, and unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations either. The kulcha itself was decent, with a soft and fluffy texture. However, the filling of paneer was disappointingly sparse. The paneer-to-dough ratio was skewed, resulting in a lack of flavor and a relatively bland overall taste. It would have been much better if the kulcha had been generously stuffed with flavorful paneer.
Comparison to Dosa House: In our experience, Dosa House, another restaurant we have visited previously, offered superior flavors and a more satisfying dining experience overall. The dishes at Dosa House showcased authentic flavors, skillful seasoning, and well-balanced ingredients. The difference in taste and quality between the two establishments was noticeable, and we found ourselves longing for the more flavorful dishes we had enjoyed at Dosa House.
Service and Atmosphere: The service at Chaat House was average, with staff members being courteous but not particularly attentive. The restaurant's atmosphere was relatively casual, with a modest interior. It didn't stand out in terms of ambiance, but it provided a decent setting for a quick meal.
In conclusion, our visit to Chaat House in Bellevue left much to be desired. The Hakka noodles lacked flavor, and the paneer kulcha was disappointing due to its sparse paneer filling. In comparison, our previous experience at Dosa House had been much more enjoyable, with tastier dishes and better overall quality. While Chaat House may have potential, improvements are needed to elevate the flavors and ensure consistency in...
Read moreI have been to Chaat House many times in the past but due to traveling, I had not visited until now. I remember the place bustling with people, the line out the door and never a place to sit. Now the tables are empty, the place looks lived in and people were coming in and out to pick up their orders. The service was alright, nothing special but I didn't expect that anyway. I came here to place and order and take it home. I ordered 3 samosas, 1 bhel puri and 1 sweet lassi. The samosas were good - though they were very oily, the filling was tasty. The sweet lassi was just confused. There was a salty flavor underneath with LOTS of cardamom flavor explosion in the mouth. That's now how sweet lassi is supposed to me. It's supposed to be simple with the sweetness being the primary taste. But this was salty-sweet and frankly just trying way too hard. The bhel puri was alright - too sweet and not well balanced with the green chutney. It felt like they opened and mixed a bunch of Haldiram's namkeen packets and tossed it all together. I could have done that at home. Furthermore, I ate and shared a good portion of it on the way back to my home as I was hungry but as I put another spoonful in my mouth, I noticed a long black hair tangled between the sev and dried peas, smothered with sauces. It was absolutely disgusting and I along with the people in the car, lost our appetites and stopped at the nearest gas station to throw away our food. I thought about how this could have happened and then I remembered my food being prepared by the ladies in the back who were wearing a hair net just for the sake of wearing it but it wasn't covering the sides and strands of fallen hair. So Chaat House not only has to work on making their food more appealing but also work on basic hygiene when preparing food. I don't think I will be coming to Chaat House for a very long time because frankly I walked into The Chaat House but left from...
