Cons: Lux uses Fetch, which is a badly reviewed delivery service, that service delays your packages an average of 1 to 2 days, in many cases they lose your package and the lux management has asked Fedex to not deliver items directly to the building but re-route all items to the closest fetch location which is in Kirkland (I found out this after calling Fedex about a delayed package were the rep wouldn't reroute my item to the apartment address).
With fetch if you order something using the provided address, you'll be paying more in sales taxes because fetch address is in Kirkland and Kirkland has higher sales taxes than Bellevue. I raised this as a concern but never received any reply from the leasing office.
Also now that the Bellevue10 building is complete (just East from the lux apartment) the south east part of the building won't have any privacy on the east windows, you can see your next building neighbors almost face to face, we had to close all our blinds on that side of the building to have privacy, I think the lux apartments should address this issue by changing the blinds to allow natural light to enter the building without sacrificing privacy.
There's a garbage room in each floor but all the recyclables should be disposed of in the parking lot recyclable are which is inconvenient because you have to take the elevator to go there and that's why many residents just leave the boxes in the garbage room and the boxes stay there for weeks (it's only a 5 story building but still is super inconvenient).
Lastly, among the apartments we had lived in(we're 2) , this is the most expensive in terms of utilities including common building areas electricity, and the apartment unit sewer, sewer capacity , hot and cold water, gas, pest control, were you pay a separate fee for the amenities ( small gym, conference room, rooftop, lobby) and a service fee, we average almost $300 or more per month just in this fees remember to add your standard puget sound bill to calculate your cost.
Pros: Other than that, the apartment is in a Great and safe location and is very...
Read moreI travel for work often. Therefore I have rented throughout the USA, from the east coast (NYC, Jersey, Philly), the south (Georgia, Texas), and recently the west coast (Washington, LA). When on assignment, I usually rent places that have nice fixtures, clean hallways, stainless-steal appliances... in summary "upper middle" class standards. The appearance of this place was great. Yet the appearance is the deception. The one way in /one way out garage door breaks often and at various times; not just during busy/peek times. You never know when it will happen, yet it does and it happens often. The management office was subpar and thus the direct reason why I left at the conclusion of the lease, yet I remained in Bellevue. They catered to certain "types" of people... not all tenants if you know what I mean.... Nevertheless, I give it two stars because the area was safe. I will give it that. (Not one break in, no robberies during my time there, only package thief.)
I wish I could give a better review, I really do. And usually I do with all the places I have rented over the years. Yet I must be honest regarding Lux. Like they say, the dressed-up salesperson will say whatever to get you to sign up. Yet after-sale service from management determines your experience. Need I say more...
January 2024 update*
Laura Molleker never replies to emails nor phone calls and makes up bogus "damages" report upon your move out AND CHARGED AN ILLEGAL "professional cleaning fee". So, I attached my photos of the unit upon my move out from over 3 years ago!!! YOU BE THE JUDGE! DOES THIS NOT LOOK CLEAN TO YOU??? The city of Bellevue need to shut this place down for the illegal stuff they doing!!
It has been over 3 years and she STILL have these bogus "damages" and "professional cleaning" on my move out report. 3 YEARS people. No one at LUX ever reached out!!!
I wasnt even aware of this until NOW. My experience at LUX will not go away. Aweful management awful people and awful service....
Read moreI've lived at Lux for a little over a year, and of the three apartment buildings I’ve stayed in within this area (the others being JUXT in SLU and TEN20), Lux is by far my favorite.
One standout feature of Lux is its attentive and responsive staff. Special thanks to Joe from the leasing office, who handled our renewal and move to our current unit with great care, especially when resolving an issue with the washer. Despite being relatively new, Joe brings fantastic energy to the team. Colin, who assisted with our first lease, is an absolute gem and a truly wonderful person. The ease of requesting maintenance through the resident portal is also something I really appreciate, and Selvin has been incredibly prompt in addressing any requests. It’s also a nice touch that the leasing office occasionally hosts events like happy hours or offers free donuts—small gestures that help foster a sense of community.
Beyond the amazing staff, other things we like about Lux: the quiet neighborhood right next to downtown Bellevue, minimal noise from neighbors, high ceilings on the top floor, and proximity to parks and a variety of restaurants. The convenience of having QFC and Bartell Drugs just across the street (both open late) is a huge plus, and there's a quality daycare (Kiddie Academy) just a block away.
A few areas could be improved: the electrical wiring in our current 5th-floor unit has had issues, and we’re still waiting for a fix to use one of the outlets. The penthouse floor layout, while nice, feels a bit tight; moving from a 2B unit on another floor to a 2B + Den didn’t give us much extra space in the living or dining areas. I wish some of the large patio space had been allocated to indoor space. Also, it would be great if there were a remote option to open the garage door for guests.
I don’t use the amenities much (gym, rooftop, lounge), so I can’t comment on those.
Overall, I’ve really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely...
