I have been to this and Tukwila location a few times now. I'm surprised to see the review for this one. Yes, waiting is long but they put out the estimated wait time that is updated as often as they can. Also, they want to make sure that every hot pot bowl that comes out is fresh and hot. So, because it's hot food, people takes longer to eat them (also I think most people want to enjoy it instead of burning their tongue.)
If you come for lunch time, you get to choose a drink (green tea or wintermelon at the time I write this review).
We came around 12.15pm, saw the estimated wait time is 20-30 minutes. Got the table at 12.30pm.
The only downside to this location is parking as the space is limited and some people can't park their car in the line, making others struggle to park theirs.
However, the food came out wonderful. The taste is always consistent, which is a good thing! Our favorite is Taiwanese Spicy, it is definitely enough for the 2 of us. Our second favorite is thai tomato and then beef. It's hard to beat the flavor and level of spiciness of the Taiwanese Spicy so we always choose that but if you can't handle spicy, do not order that and blame the restaurant that it's too spicy. The many times we come to this place, we never experience the food that's bland. Service is always friendly, helpful. They will refill your water, soup, sauces if you ask for it (or if they happen to walk pass.) Food never disappoint.
Seriously with the price that we pay, we can't have anything but positive experience with this chain. Our first time was in Tukwila, so coming here this place is smaller than that so wait time can be a bit longer. We always just order from large so 1 of that with 2 bowls of rice is plenty for us. We love their garlic bean paste sauce, it is our favorite!!
Drinks that we've tried and recommend are amber oolong tea and amber oolong milk tea. Their boba also have not disappoint us.
All in all, great experience and affordable food. We often see a single customer dining out by themselves and they don't seem to mind at all. Seems normal to do that in this place, which is nice to see. If you want to have hot pot without the price of hot pot, this is a good...
Read moreThere's always a wait and if you come after they open expect an hour. They have gotten better since my last review and the kids noodle bowl is available! Love that you can ask for more broth if the fire dries it up. Service has improved! The wait is better than Tukwila. Also wish their dinner came with tea. Not sure why it cost more for dinner, portions are the same just no tea like lunch. 😕
Previous 2 star review: This review is entirely on service. I've been to their twkillia location and they are way better.
It started off OK, there was no wait but because we needed a table for 6 they had us check in. It didn't take long after that, to be seated. We were asked a few times by different waitresses if we were ready to order (this was the most we've interacted with the staff during our visit). We finally were ready to order. We placed our orders then asked for the complementary kids noodle bowl (that we've received at another location everytime). The waitress didn't know about this and said she would ask the supervisor. Next thing we know the supervisor comes out & and starts telling us we're mistaken and other locations don't do that & you have to pay, they can cook any of the sides for the kids. We weren't trying to pull one over, just wanted what they offer. We asked if they were all different and she said no. Fine just say you don't offer it at this location instead of insisting that other locations don't offer kids bowls. Don't make it seem like we're trying to scam you. That's just rude! Just how you handled this alone is why we're not coming back to this location. Maybe that's why so many complain about the customer service, it's coming from the top down!
We had to flag someone down for everything, they didn't bother checking in on our table. They were quick to clear our table.
I don't know which waitress it was but noticed my son knocked half my chopstick out of my hand and brought me a replacement! That's was awesome service! This is why it's 2 stars...
Read moreWe got there at around 2:40, and waited for about 55 minutes. But the time passed very quickly, and me and my dad were so engaged with all the wonderful smells and looks of the food. We were at the one in Bellevue, so it was very small and crowded. But when we were next in line to be seated, a very smiley waiter gave us the menu while we were waiting and took our order so that we could get the lunch menu, and therefore have a cheaper meal with a free tea. About five minutes after he took our order at around 3:35, we were seated. And literally, as soon as we were seated, our waiter set down the tea, and right on his tail were the too hotpots that my dad and I had ordered. I am not much of a tea drinker, but my dad loved the green tea and even took mine as the hotpot that he ordered was so spicy. My dad ordered a medium spicy, and I ordered a none. The food was healthy delicious, and we had also ordered a bok choy side. When the side got to the table, we asked the waiter if he could turn off the fires under the hot pots. He was very friendly and cheery and happily obliged. I gave Boiling Point 5 stars despite the long wait because they were doing everything that they could to keep everything running as smoothly and swiftly as possible. At around the middle of our meal at 3:30, we started to notice that the restaurant was clearing up and people could walk in and be seated right away. So the best time to go would be at 3:30, as you could walk in without the wait. So everything about this restaurant (except for the wait) is amazing and deserved 5 stars. Just make sure to go at...
