The leasing staff is beyond rude and unprofessional.
I went to tour a studio with a friend who is moving here from out of town and our experience was absolutely horrendous. When we first arrived for our appointment the staff was not greeting us at all, we were met with a very rude front desk lady that starts off with a "What can I do for you?" in a very demeaning. After we explained we were there for our tour appointment she pointed to the leasing office and told us to go in there, sit down and wait for someone to be available.
After doing so one of the leasing agents yells from across the room "What are you guys here for?", we then explained we were there for our tour appointment and he said "Well we don't have any apartments available for you to see today", then one of the other leasing agents at the desk next to his said "Yeah we do there's a 1 bedroom available if you want to see the finishes and such" to which the main leasing agent said, "Well yeah I guess that one should be available if you would like to see it".
After this head leads us out to the lobby, handed us the key, a fob and a map then said "Go out these two glass doors here turn left and go up the elevator" which we did and went to the proper floor to see the apartment. After reaching to the correct floor we looked and couldn't find the correct apartment number so we looked at the map, we were in the wrong tower... So we went back down to the lobby to tell the leasing agent we couldn't find the apartment where he had sent us and as we enter the lobby we overhear the leasing agent gossiping to the front desk lady about someone else's application, completely unprofessional. So we approach them and ask for directions to the apartment again, to which the leasing agent replied "You guys went to the wrong tower!" and we said "Yes however that was the one you sent us to" he then replied VERY rudely and almost yelling "I never told you to go there!" to which we replied "You said to go through those double doors to the left and up the elevator, which we did" to which we replied "I never said that, I gave you a map, don't you know how to read?" at this point we were beyond shocked at how we were being treated while trying to tour a 1 bedroom apartment they're charging close to $3,000 a month for... So we asked "Okay so how do we get to the elevator for the other tower?" and he said "Just go through that door over there it's not very hard!" so we go to scan the fob and open the door but it didn't scan the first time and he shouts from across the room "You have to use the fob if you want to open the door!", completely uncalled for.
We go up to look at the apartment and it's terrible! Absolute not what a $3,000 a month apartment in Bellevue should be. It's dirty, musty, and has a weird chemical smell. So we head back down to the lobby absolutely disappointed by both the apartment and how we have been treated by the staff. At this point, we just want to get our IDs back and leave it was such a horrific experience, unlike ANYTHING we've experienced at several of the much nicer towers in Downtown Bellevue.
We called the office later that day let to let the manager know how we were treated in their complex that day and before even being connected to the complex manager and before we even explained the situation, as soon as we gave the front desk lady our names she said that she wanted to apologize for how the leasing agent treated us and you could tell in her voice this clearly wasn't the first time he's treated potential residents in such way.
If this review makes its way up the chain of staff at Avalon, I want to say that as someone who owns and runs several businesses. If ANY of my employees EVER treated a customer this way they would be fired on the spot. I would expect this employee to undergo some serious training on how to treat customers and conduct business if he would like to keep working in this field. Everyone in the office there should know exactly what employee I am...
Read morePros: Property management team met my expectations. They were kind and professional and involved themselves in events hosted by the apartment complex Thick floors between units. I rarely, if ever, heard my upstairs neighbor Apartment units in the west side of the west tower HVAC built into the unit. Incredibly nice to have during the hot days in summer Safe neighborhood. I never felt unsafe when I walked outside at night Lots of restaurants nearby. Walking distance from a QFC grocery store There's a bus route within walking distance that can take you directly to the Seatac airport The apartment complex uses refrigerators for keeping your groceries that you order online cool if you're not immediately there to pick them up Good location. You can easily get to all of the major highways in the area Excellent maintenance team. Whenever there was an issue (replace a lightbulb, shower head replacement, bad hose in a flower pot), the problem was addressed the same business day West side of the west building has a great view of the downtown Seattle skyline. Many beautiful sunsets were enjoyed Cost of parking was relatively reasonable at $120 for a compact space
Cons: The construction noise. I knew this when I signed my apartment lease. It became marginally quieter over time. I still moved in at the time because my working arrangement at the time was in an office during the hours of construction outside. But when I started working from home. It was quite miserable. Earplugs are strongly recommended Cathy, who is mentioned here, is no longer part of the property management team. She unfortunately passed away To renew my lease for another year, my rent would have been increased an additional $350. In addition to the continued construction noise outside of my apartment, leaving for a new apartment complex didn't make for a difficult decision My car was stolen from the parking garage while I was living here and away on vacation. I don't blame the apartment complex for this. But don't assume your car is safe from prowlers. Property management was helpful in getting the information I needed handed over to the police. Guest parking is difficult to find in the area. And parking inside the garage costs a lot The prices for an apartment here don't seem like a good value. Unless you have a child in the school system here or absolutely need to work from an office in downtown and don't have a car, I wouldn't live in the area The apartment complex was continuously under construction during my time there. The property management office was changed for a year. This made it hard for deliveries to get to the apartment complex. This has been fixed though. The gym was getting remodeled for a while too. Next is the lounge on top of the west tower. There was also construction going on in individual apartments that The cleaning fee provided by the apartment complex when you move out is $145. Not so much a con but more of an FYI so you can plan accordingly. I didn't think this price was unreasonable Keep in mind the additional fees associated with moving in ($50 application fee, $350 amenity fee, $200 security deposit)
Overall, I'd recommend living here if you don't live on the west side of the west tower until construction finished and you can find a great...
Read moreThis review is a long time coming as I moved in mid of the last year. There were a number of places comparable to Avalon Towers in terms of apartment size and price in Bellevue. Especially under the Avalon management you would find couple more communities near by. However, what was different was the interaction/experience I had with the Avalon Tower team and its convenience of proximity to great retail, hospital, entertainment and restaurants!. Which is why I ended up getting an apartment here.
Some thoughts about this community.
Leasing office staff- (Ana - Thanks to our wonderful community consultant, she went above and beyond to help me during the application and move-in process. Since our stay she made sure that we feel comfortable to ask questions and welcomed). (Matt - Matt is an awesome supervisor, whenever I have a question he is always there ready to help.)
Both of them always do everything they can to make sure all my questions are answered and concerns are addressed.
Front desk- (Kathy, Stephen (Steve) & Roz: All of them are always attentive to resident needs, very knowledgeable, really nice, friendly, and helpful!. Really love talking to them on my way out to work or coming back home they always make the day a little brighter.)
Maintenance staff- (Milagros, Rocio, Teresita, Attila & Jacquob: Their dedication in maintaining this community cleanliness and functionality is exceptional.)
Overall the team at Avalon Towers are very knowledgeable, always willing to help, nice, paying attention to details - all of you are awesome!
On the rooftop at the 15th floor of West building the views at the lounge and the gym are extraordinarily beautiful at sunrise and sunset.
I haven't got a chance to participate but Avalon Tower's team hosts community events every month, which are very great to participate and meet fellow residents
The building also has an Amazon locker and a locked large package room.
Overall both the amenities and security here are impressive. Everything is very well maintained and convenient to live in this community!
Finally thanks to the exceptional service and comfortable living environment that Avalon Towers Bellevue offer. We feel we made a good choice moving to Avalon Towers Bellevue.
I wish Avalon Towers Bellevue team best of luck and continued success in their job and life....
