would never have a baby here or through at lukeās ever again because if my experience here. bedside manner was terrible, i pushed for over 3 hours to give birth and when i got moved to a post partum room after labor no one came to my room to check on me for almost 3 hours. when the nurse came in she just shoved all the corporate paperwork down my throat instead of making sure i was taken care of⦠she didnāt know if i had peed or not after labor and didnāt think to ask or check, and later in after she finished showing me paperwork i took a shower then asked her a few hours later if it was normal that i hadnāt peed. she looked mortified and said she was busy with other patients and never checked my chart and didnāt know i hadnāt owed after labor. it was 10 hours after delivering my son and she said that she was busy and thatās why she never checked and itās her fault. she was nervous and tried to get me to pre in my own so she wouldnāt be held responsible for it since i was retaining urine, i told her i couldnāt pee and had no sensation to so then another nurse ran a bladder scan and came to find out i was retaining urine from the swelling of pushing for so long. had to get a catheter and 1,300 ml of urine came out right after they put my catheter in. if i hadnāt asked out of curiosity if it was normal that i hadnāt peed then i would of died from my bladder busting from urine retention. and on top of it like i said no one checked on me for hours and i had not sensation to pee so it was just a quick question that led to me having a catheter in for the next 6 days after labor and being discharged with a newborn and a catheter. no nurses changed my blood soaked sheets for the whole 3 days i was there after giving birth, helped clean the blood drips all over my floor in the bathroom and my room since i just gave birth and couldnāt clean it myself. when my parents came to visit they were chocked how much blood was dripped all over my floor and sheets and no nurses were helping clean it or take care of helping keep my bleeding clean. it was my first baby and i was fitting out the regular corporate paperwork they give every mom where you have to write the days and times your baby eats , pees, and poops. none of the nurses were asking on our 2nd or 3rd day if my son had had any soiled diapers. so they told me i could call my family to come get me on the end of my 2nd night to be discharged and then when my mom got there she asked me in passing when the last time my son had pooped and i said not since the day before, my mom then asked the nurses if it was okay for us to go home since my son hadnāt pooped in over 24 hours and they said no that my son has to stay in the hospital until he poops. the nurses said maybe when he was getting circumcised in the nursery (parents arenāt allowed to be there in the nursery for circumsisions) that maybe he pooped and no doctor or nurse documented it. i think itās funny that new moms have paperwork shoved down their throat and have to document everything which is good but just for them not to come check your documents or potentially take your child for a procedure and not document anything themselves if they poop or pee but you must document it isnāt acceptable. anyway my family like i said had traveled 30 mins to the hospital because i was being discharged just for my mom to ask about my son not pooping and then they said they didnāt know he didnāt poop because the last few shifts of nurses never asked. so they made my son stay another night until he pooped and i stayed there with him, alone , covered in blood, and with a foley catheter in. nurses wouldnāt come in to help me with him since i was considered ānight watchā and was technically discharged that night but had to stay overnight with him until he pooped.
to backtrack , the night i was told to call my family that i would be discharged was around 7:30pm my family got there at 8, and then my mom asked ab my son not pooping just after 8 and we waited hours to get a definitive answer about it. took until 11:30pm just to get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off shout out to nurse SEASON you are wonderful! Thank you for listening to me my first night of admission. Iāll be adding more names soon!
So last Friday I had a rough night b4ā¦my head hands&feet felt like they were going to explodeā¦I took a home urine test3 times&they all said I had bilirubin in my urineā¦which everything I read said wasnāt anywhere near normal in any capacity especially in pregnancy (36&6) So we went to urgent care&waitedā¦from about 10-1 pmā¦š They took my urine again&they found bilirubin as well as protein&my blood pressure was higher than normalā¦&unlike the majority of my pregnancy,my head&extremities pressure didnāt go away⦠They told me to come in on my next appointment date which was that next Mondayā¦I was like āso this isnāt concerning?āThey checked w/the nurse again&told me2go2the hospital toL&Dwhere they would be waiting for me. I go there, they ran my urine again&took bloodwork&told me that my urine and bloodwork was w/in normal limitsā¦š I questioned them on my bilirubin levels&they said they didnāt check it but the other test level wasnāt of a concernā¦š So I was like āso youāre just gonna send me home?ā The doc backtracked and was basically like ānow hold onā¦your BP is high so we would like to keep u for evaluationā¦&we are most likely going to schedule you for c-section sometime next wkā¦āš³ So they kept me for a bit&my bp didnāt go down⦠most likely bc I was stressed to the maxā¦even though they gave me their ācocktailā of magnesium,Tylenol,Benadryl,&lactated ringers for my pressure in my head feet&hands which I have to admit is great stuff. Then they hit me with itā¦they wanted me to have my c-section at 8 the next morningā¦! 𤷠Soā¦we got theMIL on the horn&she was to be there the next morning to watch our 3year old so my DH could be there for the c-section. Our10yrs in the makingIVF rainbow little bitty was born around 1445 via c-section that went as smooth as smooth can be,thanks to @mystlukes anderson campus drs&staff who I will just say are top notch&the best Iāve ever worked w/as a patient and wished I could still work as a medical professional because they are amazing &went above&beyond w/šÆ5star customer service&support! Took about 4 or 5 tries to get my spinal block, but it really wasnāt that painful, just the anticipation of pain. No one is perfect yall⦠not everyone can get an IV, place a catheter, or even get a spinal or epidural on the first try⦠which is a very meticulous and somewhat complicated procedure⦠the dude did a great job as did all the medical professionals who did our c-section and doctor Pepe I think her name was, is a total doll! Totally made me feel comfortable and helped me calm down during the spinal block placement. So proud of all of them⦠felt More like a dull pain but SERIOUSLY Nothing Id make a complaint about lolz.I think some ppl just like2complain. Iād never had a spinal block before and my epidural at another hospital in NY I didnāt feel a thing⦠but that hospitalās (south shore university hospital northwell) overall L&D care was all out a horror show I donāt even wish to relive here as my baby was still born after a botched induction where I had to listen to him dieing on the fetal heart monitor, and thankfully they had a competent code team and NICU or our baby would have stayed dead after resuscitating him a few times... they gun deck their notes full of lies⦠especially about why I was admitted⦠i wasnāt in any false labor⦠and I didnāt come in for any sort of psychiatric evaluation or reasons lie they documented heavily on.
But At Anderson everything was amazing and I canāt wait to do it all again in about 2-3yrs! Thanks again for everything! Very Respectfully, @ivfcannamamaof2our_jrny_2yall & @housegrassohearusroar on IG come follow us And maybe learn some stuff lolz
Really appreciate yāall in the biz! I mentioned that I would be open to being an āoutside consultantā lolz totally volunteer just glad to help if and when needed as Iām a navy Corpsmen Veteran. #ImTheOneCalledDoc #CorpsmanUp #Semperfi...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePATIENT BEWARE!!! I went to the ER for extreme pain in my lower abdomen and groin. The pain was unbearable from the night before I could not even walk up steps. After explaining myself to the staff, that this is most likely due to an ongoing issue from her hernia repair surgery I had in 2019 that had resulted in me being in more pain than I was before my surgery and that pain has never gone away since waking up from that initial surgery. I added that in 2022 meshes had to be removed due to the fact that they failed, further explaining that the meshes curled on themselves and another umbilical hernia had returned. I reiterated and further gave detail and explanation as to how I had a specialist in another state review my scans done here and how he found mesh failure and reoccurring hernias as this is why I had them removed. Again I noted the staff would not find this information in their system because it was done out of state. Unfortunately I had to explain this long story 5 different times to different interns. So after examining me I suggested to do another CT scan to see if everything is OK cause Iām in a lot of pain and Iām scared because the pain is so unbearable. A short time after my CT scan, Iām anxiously waiting results and a very young woman walks in, states her name Jennifer Hwang and says that sheās been asked to come in and talk to me about my health history again. Immediately I feel very uncomfortable because her bed side manner was rather unprofessional and hasty. Come to find out sheās an intern not a PA or doctor. So again I proceeded to tell her my health history all over again from start to finish, while at the computer she asks me for the doctors name that originally did my surgery in 2019 at st Lukeās . I told her and then also gave her the name of the doctor that Iāve been having my care with here in Pennsylvania and the specialist who did my surgery in Florida. She asked me how did they know the mesh is needed to be removed I told her there was a CT scan done and I was sent to the specialist and he confirmed that the meshes were folding in on themselves and that one of my hernias had already returned. At this point she begins to call me a liar and my surgeon in Florida a quack because my ct scan reports from PA were not showing mesh failure. I again reiterated that my surgeon out of state was specialist in hernia revision and their was no further need for her to disrespect him or his credentials by calling him a quack. She now starts to get verbally combative with me and begins to badger me with negative remarks on her opinion of my surgeons of choice. She continues to ridicule me with insults, tell me Iām lying and makes jokes about my choice of surgeons again. Referring again to my doctors as quacks in the medical field. She even takes out her phone to Gesture that I was making up the names of my surgeons. At this point Iām very uncomfortable with her presence and am scared that she truly does not have my best interest or intentions. Now making rude obnoxious comments about my surgeons and their qualifications. At this point she was using sly racial innuendos saying āyou peopleā donāt know what your talking about. Seemingly referring to my ethnicity. I had enough at this point and Iām emotional and upset because I feel like Iām being interrogated for something I wasnāt even their for. I stood up for myself and told her to leave the room because I wasnāt going to be interrogated, belittled and racially profiled anymore. At this point the intern continued to badger me some more and I told her if she did not leave my room that I would leave myself. She finally left and immediately began telling everyone in the hall a different story. I immediately left and went downstairs to find security and request to speak with upper management or supervisor. At this point I didnāt even know the results of my ct scan that was done to investigate the sever pain...
