UPDATE: I learned after the fact that management actually did read my review and noted it, but never contacted me to apologize or to make right any of the behavior that went on during this first appointment. Which quite honestly is even more alarming- theyāre aware they are under delivering to cancer survivors, and do not having the will to contact a new client to make things right. Thatās the sign of a business truly headed downhill with no desire to care.
The āownerā is no longer involved after she SOLD the business to an investor a few years ago.
This is not the safest, kindest or best environment, for anybody who takes their health, and their skin, seriously.
ALSO NOTE: The person responding to reviews as āOwnerā - only responds to positive ones with exclamation points and gratitude. All of the reviews making good points about lack of care, lack of consistency, over-pricing and poor communication are ignored! No interest or empathy valid feedback⦠nor about the human beings treated with less-than great experiences - no compassion.
The spa wants to be sophisticated, cutting edge, and above all else, classy.
The decor is 10 years ago. Itās overdue for an upgrade, but Iām guessing the business is struggling post Covid, and given the lack of depth and care of the staff - this spa seems not particularly interested in the highest overall experience.
One thing to always look for in the staff of any medical Spa is how authentic the āworkā done is ⦠Almost everyone I encountered at the front, pushing products, looked ādoneā- women in their 60s and 70s wanting to look 20 years younger. Notreassuring.
There was a lack of communication between staff - despite plenty of conversation with the staff leading up to my appointment, my aesthetician had no clue about all the communication I was assured would happen prior to arrival.
They have the normal vetting paperwork, but the front receptionist could care less that - due to time limitation- I hadnāt had a chance to fill out or sign.
The front desk promised to feed my parking meter outside, as it wasnāt taking my credit card ⦠and guess what⦠Flashing red light once I made it back ⦠couldāve gotten $98 ticket.
Pricing is what you would expect from a BH spa. And it was acceptable. But not worth it.
My aesthetician recommended something for me to purchase⦠And gave me a price that seemed low for the product line. Go to pay and ā it was $80 more- plus tax.
Thereās about 48 other Aestheticians in a half mile radius - check out one of them.
Note to management: if you give your word to a cancer patient there will be clear communication with aesthetician prior to appointment -⦠Honor it. Better yet, instill in your staff the importance of honoring it.
Itās not OK, itās not ethical, or professional to have people working the front desk who donāt get the importance of communication.
If youāre looking for a high-end, secure, safe experience, this may not be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI hate to write one star reviews, but this place is a joke.
First, if you want to use your insurance, they charge you an "admin fee" of $300, which was never disclosed to be until after the visit. Even though my insurance covers my visit, if I want to use it I have to may $300 every year. So instead I had to paid cash of $200+ rather than a co-pay of $60.00.
Second, I visit the NP, and she gives me some useless cream and a prescription at CVS. When I go to CVS, the pharmacist says that they don't even carry it and I wanted to get it, the cost would be $2,000+!!!
I called AVA MD and they said they had a "special relationship" with another pharmacy that could do it for less, and they would refer me there and the pharmacy would call me. I received no calls, and called AVA MD again, and they apologized, and now two weeks later, still no call.
Sorry to say this place is another money grab, and the doctor should be ashamed for charging $300 admin fee for no reason. Would not recommend so many other better places to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI use AvaMD for all of my cosmetic and non-cosmetic skin concerns. Iāve been going here for about 12 years. It was a severe reaction to a regular treatment at another dermatologist office that led me to Ava MD in the first place. Christine was the first person that I saw and she immediately calmed me down and assured me that there would be no permanent damage. When they opened the Beverly Hills office, I started seeing her there regularly. Then her sister, KarriAnn joined their team.
It is great to have sisters with similar aesthetics each provide her unique perspective. It's like one supplements the other and you end up with the best advice. I absolutely trust KarriAnn and Christine to give me honest feedback and realistic treatment options. I am always happy with the results. The staff is also great, especially Shirley and Karen. I prefer the Beverly Hills office to the Santa Monica office because everyone just seems friendlier (including other clients) and more personal, but just as...
