I was very dissapointed with my visit to this gift shop, yesterday was my daughters birthday so we decided to shop around since we had never been there before. We walked in we looked around i was looking at the personalised pocket knives with my husband and settled on one, I wanted to keep shopping and show my family the pocket knife, they were also there shopping with me when a young male employee aproached me and asked me to give him the knife so he could take it to the counter for me i told him oh im not ready to check out i would like to show this item to my brother who was also at the store he said he could not let me walk away with the item i told him i was not gonna leave with it he said i could not walk away from the display without handing him the item as if i was going to steal it i was very offended at that point i simply put it back because i was no longer interested in purchasing anything from there thanks to that employee and the way he approached me, that employee also went straight to the female employee at the register and started talking about us as if we could not see him doing it. I simply took my money to the next gift shop that didnt harrass us as soon as we arrived. He also had his friends visiting him at the same time so he was probably trying to act tough infront of them. How are we supposed to shop around for multiple items without physically grabbing what we want to purchase and not have to take each item to the register at once so youre not suspected of stealing. What a shame. Do...
Read moreI purchased three Hoodie type sweatshirts at Big Bear Super store as Christmas gifts for my wife on Dec. 14, 2023. A $134 dollar purchase. I was informed that she could return them if necessary. Unfortunately, one was the wrong size and necessitated a return. I did so on March 7, 2024 and was informed that they could not exchange it because of your thirty day return policy. I explained to your store manager that I was a local and made the purchase during the Christmas shopping season. I was not informed of your policy at the time of the purchase and did not see your posted sign stating your policy. Apparently your store manager sensed my displeasure in the tone of my voice and repeatedly reminded me of the thirty day policy and said something to the effect that if I was going to make an issue of it, he would allow me to make the exchange. How nice. may I suggest you include your thirty day return policy on the Receipt of Purchase, and you might consider posting your return policy sign at eye level instead of locating it below the counter top where it can easily be missed. Oh, and by the way, my wife liked...
Read moreI came with my family on vacation and we decided to shop here, Well apparently to buy a pocket knife that they have around the store on display just like any other product. The guy with the funny mustache decided to approach me and told me I couldn’t take it away from the rolling display, then the lady that appears to be in charge says its California law, We know thats a lie but if that were the case why not have it behind a glass display. Don’t come here if you don’t want to be discriminated against.
Reply to owner/disgruntled employee:
If you really cared about safety put them behind a glass display where little kids and crazies cant take them, and if thats what your worried about shame on you to put your employees at risk of someone potentially grabbing a knife. You cant be ignorant and put knifes up on roller displays as if they were sunglasses. But if you are learn how to approach people who take interest in them, because when theres a rolling display customers browse and pick items up. I guess common sense isn’t common with this store.
