Bluegreen Vacations Big Bear Village, an Ascend Collection Resort — Hotel in Big Bear Lake

Today Bluegreen Getaways had a vendor booth at the Dinah Shore lesbian pool party / festival with 10k+ women, and two female employees supported and made excuses for a straight male employee as he took videos of women by the pool, many of whom were topless. When I gently tried to let him know that it wasn’t appropriate to video women without consent, he became aggressive and asked me if I felt “entitled” or “special” as he informed he had shared the video with someone off site. His coworker told me, “I’m straight as an arrow, his wife just died, just leave him alone.” The owner of the event was notified, and I hope that this type of anti-LGBTQ+ behavior isn’t representative of the company at large. You are greeted in check-in by super nice people, as you look around the place is really big and has comfortable seating everywhere, The clubhouse has a bar you can use, popcorn nightly, foosball,pool tables, air hockey, ping pong, games and a toddler room. Outside is a pool and hot tub. Then you drive to your room, park in the garage and take the elevator to your room. Inside you will find a very beautiful living room with fireplace, full modern kitchen, washer and dryer and two bedrooms with two full baths. You can go out on your balcony and enjoy the outside too. Some rooms have a bit of a lake view. The staff is awesome with special mention of Brittany. She's the person that makes magic happen. Mediocre at best. We have stayed here before and this place has gone downhill and not worth the price. Check-in was not good (Denise attempted to check us in) After traveling with kids a few hours and getting there at 3PM the room wasn't ready. They had us waiting until 4PM to give us the key. Once in the room nothing worked (fireplace, lights are flickering, phone doesn't work) we had to call "engineering" a few times to fix some of the items. Fridge is old and super loud at night and the garage opener didnt work. At the pool they didn't have any pool towels available and overall the place is run down.
