Deerbird Boutique — Local services in Blue Ridge

We were in Blueridge today, the store didn’t open till 12, we were waiting for it to open. The person opening the store was extremely rude and it was clear she could care less about her customers!! We walked out, and will never walk back in there again. We visit Blueridge about 3-4 times a year because we love it there, however, I would not recommend this business to anyone!!

This is in response to Deerbird Boutique and the owners comments on my review. We were waiting to look in the store, when she arrived she asked us not to sit on the ledge of the window which is fine, I immediately got up as did my sister in law, I never said anything to her about her request for us to not sit there. She is opening at noon, so I don't feel like it is unreasonable to expect a shop owner to be ready at the time they are planning to open, not getting there last minute and then trying to get set up and treating customers as if they are in their way. I certainly wasn't rude to her, but when someone is letting you know by their attitude that they don't want you there, you leave which is what we did. And obviously she will not have to worry about me again because I will not go back to this place of business. We were in many stores this day and everyone else was so very pleasant and friendly to us. This is by far the most unique shop in Blue Ridge! The owner is extremely attentive and passionate about making you feel welcome and beautiful! So much thought is put into every little detail. I have been a regular customer since Deerbird opened their doors and will continue to be. By the way, I totally disagree with a recent post saying the owner was rude on Friday 10/11. This is the oldest building on Main Street, the window seals are very weak! Had the rude customers given her a chance to explain why she asked them not to sit on them, then maybe they would have understood her concern for the windows and the people sitting on them! Who sits on window seals anyway? As far as the hours, if you live in Blue Ridge and own a business in Blue Ridge then you know there isn't alot of business in the morning. The owner was one of the rudest people I’ve ever met. We were visiting next door and had our scooters parked out front. They are an absolute attention grabber as everyone is walking around and wondering if they’re for rent or where they came from, bringing attention to her storefront. This was not the perspective she chose.

She Came into the business guns a blazing and did not care what kind of disruption she was creating in the eatery next-door with a chill vibe, disrupting the entire clientele.

It was a parent she was looking for a confrontation, and she approached our table mid meal. Seriously lady, go lay down somewhere. That was 100% uncalled for. While the moment will pass for me, this one star review will remain.
