Please avoid this urgent care if you are a student like me. I visited this urgent care twice last fall. I had called on the phone right when they opened, telling them I could not afford a visit but I just wanted to pay for Strep Testing. They said this was fine, as long as I understood that if it was positive they could not provide a prescription without a visit. I just wanted to pay for the test. They said to come asap after hanging up the phone. I walked and arrived 10 minutes later to the front desk telling me they are not accepting walk ins anymore, yet it was only 9:30am and they opened at 9am. When I told them that someone over the phone told me to come she reluctantly checked me in with an attitude. Keep in mind there was no one in the lobby, they were not visibly busy or overrun like some of the Urgent Cares in Boston. I told her I just wanted the test and they checked me in for a full visit even though I could not afford it at the time. I gave them my insurance and planned to deal with it later. I was negative for strep which was the entire reason I didn't want to pay for a visit, and all they did was prescribe 800mg advil. Then about a month later I revisited the Urgent Care planning to have an office visit. I felt horrible and could not tell why. The doctor did not check my ears when I went, and also did not prescribe anything that helped. I winded up getting worse the next day and did not want to return to Carbon health, so a virtual clinic prescribed me antibiotics for what they believed was two ear infections that somehow went unnoticed at Carbon Health. Unfortunately, the infections were so severe that the first round of antibiotics did not work. I called carbon health informing them that I needed medicine but couldn't afford to come in for another 400$ visit just for the doctor to tell me what I already knew, which was I had 2 ear infections and possibly a sinus infection after they didn't check my ears the first visit. Luckily they were able to prescribe medicine without me coming in again, however, after those experiences I did not want to return and have not since. Now it is almost a year later, and I was never billed for these visits. I had met my deductible via my insurance before both of them so I assumed insurance winded up covering everything which I had no idea if they would. But in August I was suddenly billed and automatically charged for both these visits with no notice and no warning. Not only that but there was no insurance adjustment on one of the bills and the other had only 40$ taken off which made no sense. Because they have billed me a year later this insurance is no longer active. I tried contacting carbon health about the bills and have not gotten a response. They also state on their website that they will never automatically charge a card, which they clearly did. I called my old insurance company and actually found out that one of the bills was still processing via my policy so Carbon Health charged me almost 300$ for a visit when I actually should've only paid 3$ after the adjustments according to my policy. Now I have to wait for these to be escalated in order for my insurance to send Carbon health an EOB so they are forced to refund me, instead of Carbon health waiting for the adjustments to be finalized then charge me correctly. To be completely honest I shouldn't have to pay for these visits at all. DO NOT GO HERE it is...
Read morePA Kimia Kordestani was extremely rude and unprofessional. Looking into her profile, she has similar reviews with the same feedback. Her true passion is âBotoxâ. My wife and I made an appointment for strep throat at 6:30 and 6:45pm respectively. We showed up 15 minutes early and were seated in the back of the room by 6:20pm. So far, so good. The MA did our vitals, checked our blood pressure and mine was abnormally high. She conducted the strep test, no problem or complaints.
After we wait for the results, Kimia comes in. She informed us that we tested negative which is great but that was it. She didnât acknowledge my abnormally high blood pressure (145/92), she put gloves on and felt my lymph nodes on my neck and looked in other areas. She didnât change gloves when switching to my wife (not sure if itâs standard practice but it seems like it should be). She asks if anything else is needed and my wife brought up a concern with a mass on her arm (that she mentioned to the MA when she was taking her vitals) thatâs been growing for the last two months and she completely dismissed it. She checked it briefly, and tried to convince us it was a potential bug bite. She also mentioned that she canât doing anything because it was close to closing time. It wasnât even 6:45 yet (my actual appointment time) and who dismisses a potential cancer concern, especially as a PA? Completely unprofessional and rude. She did not take my wifeâs concern seriously, she was also focused on getting us out because they were âclosing soonâ. We left at exactly 6:45pmâŚ
I came in earlier that week and met with Xinye Weber and she was wonderful. I'm not sure what is wrong with Kimia but her lack of care and professionalism, especially with high blood pressure and a cancer concern, is a joke. I want this addressed because if she's treating us like this, she treating other patients as well and that's...

Edit: I have tried to contact them several times in several days as to which they have not responded. The more I learn the more this looks like a scam. I am going to report them to the Massachusetts Attorney General and Massachusetts Department of Health. I also deactivated the card they had so they cannot automatically charge me without my consent (which they did). They also blocked my ability to comment on their posts on Facebook.
I went in and talked to the receptionist who told me I'd be covered. Not only that I did my due diligence to ask worst case how much would I pay out of pocket. She confirmed not over $200. Guess who is now stuck with a $373 bill?!!
Also note after my appointment I confirmed with them it would be a $45 copay. But somehow I am still left with this huge bill.
Deliberate lies and absolute disregard for patients. I am now fighting this bill but please please don't let yourself go through this. I came in for an ulcer and I am pretty sure I am developing a new one from dealing with them. Disgusting practice. You deserve better.
I was taken advantage of at a vulnerable time. I was in so much pain. They lied to me and used my pain against me because I said I wouldn't go into the practice if it would cost over $200 out of pocket. I am going to get a lawyer as well as contact the Massachusetts attorney general.
Patients, know your rights!! Protect yourself from fraudulent practices like this. They will claim you are covered and tell you whatever they need to get your in the door. There are good medical practices out there but this is not one. Please save yourself from the hardship you...
