CVS — Local services in Boston

Update 1-22-25: it’s been over a year since I wrote the review below. The pharmacy staff has changed over quite a bit, with a new head pharmacist. I must say, the service is as good as ever, matter fact, even better, which is hard to believe. I never thought I would have a CVS pharmacy that was so helpful. I have a CVS very close to my house, but I choose to go to this one, close to work, because it is so above and beyond anywhere else. Sonia and Alissa are always helpful, kind, and they do not ever hesitate to go the extra mile. None of their hard work and dedication to the customers/patients gets lost on me, and I am sure it doesn’t go unnoticed by anyone else. this pharmacy is clearly run by compassionate people; I’m grateful to have This particular CVS with this staff in my area.

Original review from over a year ago (2023): I transferred my prescriptions to this CVS about 1.5 years back… I didn’t have a great experience with the previous CVS I used near my house, but after going here a few times, & having a very positive experience, I decided to make it permanent. When I first switched there was a young man in charge, he was great, he called me when they had to order something, he worked with me when I had to pay out of pocket for my father meds for his alzheimer’s disease, and so much more…. I work on the sand block, so it’s not only great, but super convenient. a few months ago he told me he’s be leaving. I was honestly bummed, I was worried that it would go downhill like the other CVS I used… well thar didn’t happen. They do have many of the sand staff, there is one young woman (at least younger than me, I’m 40) who’s been there the hole time, she’s always been super kind and helpful. Also the new head pharmacist is just a great! She went out of her way to call me at work today to let me know that my prescription came in on a shipment, as it needed to be ordered, and when I showed up this morning it had not been unpacked yet; so I requested and received a call from her. I just showed up after work to pick it up, the person in front of me was having an issue (I think? Something was slowing it down) so she, the head pharmacist came over, opened the other register, apologized for calling me later in the day (by only 1 hour) than when she said she’s call; a completely unnecessary apology, but it showed how much she cared. I feel that people who work in the medical field should be compassionate and kind (I am to my customers and I work in a very different industry l). Unfortunately many aren’t super nice, it can be like dealing with the DMV, but not here at 191 Stewart Street CVS. Here they are great, they care, they always go above and beyond and I always notice and appreciate it. I wish I remember and knew everyone’s name. If I learn them, I’ll update. But both woman who are there on Monday November 13th at 4:30 PM-ish (there was another woman, but I haven’t seen here there before, maybe she’s new? I didn’t interact but I’m sure working with these people she’ll be great as they have created a positive ecosystem they will only create more kind and compassionate workers. Thank you so much for all your help. unfortunately I need a regular pharmacy, we do have issues with the medical system in this country, but this will pharmacy IS NOT one of those issues. This CVS is my favorite CVS in Boston and there are two incredible people there that need a raise one of them is Eric hard-working guy who would be an awesome assistant manager and a nice raise to go with it! The other one is Tom one of the managers who I feel deserves a raise as well! I've been a CVS customer for quite a while! And I really love the people of the Stuart Street CVS! These people are incredible! There are really good CVS's in Boston in my opinion this is a great CVS you're ever in Boston and you want to go to a CVS go to this one and tell them Ritchie sent you!😀 CVS corporate needs to get on the stick and give these two guys a raise and a position change! If this doesn't happen I will be writing about it! Remember that saying the customer is always right? Well the customer's definitely right about this CVS! I appreciate your hard work and I appreciate your willingness to help me if I need something? The best CVS I have ever been to and I'm so thankful I found out about them about 6 months ago wasn't even aware they were there! I'm glad I know now! This whole store needs to be recognized for its employees! I want CVS corporate to look into this store and start appreciating these people even more! I literally come to this pharmacy daily and everyone is always nice however I went to pick up my prescription today and it was a different pharmacist( Not the usual pleasant guy that always helps me) but someone named Zilong who was not friendly and made me feel like I was bothering him. Instead of greeting me he just stood there so I awkwardly said hi( no response from him) I then just said I was there to pick up meds. He asked me my name date of birth but he was very dry, no eye contact just very unfriendly . Not sure what the issue was but he needs to do better, his attitude doesn’t fit with the rest of the amazing staff. The one star is for him...
