Do not make the mistake of getting any services with Grasshopper. Absolutely horrible. Would give 0 stars if I could. I had a very bad experience with this phone service (wouldn't get calls, etc. for my business) so I cancelled it within a couple months. Over a year later, I noticed that they charged my credit card over $500. I called them immediately to ask what was going on and why my credit card was still on their system and why my account was still active when I was assured by a representative that it had been deleted. Without giving any explanation, they apologized and said that the amount would be refunded and my account was now cancelled (shocking, as I had been told that over a year ago). This time, I asked for the gotosupport agent that provide customer services for Grasshopper to send me an email confirming this. They sent the email. I noticed a deposit to my credit card but there was a difference of $40. I'm now being told that the $40 was the conversion (USD to CAD) and that they cannot do anything about this. How terrible that customers would be treated this way. Why do I have to pay $40 out of my pocket by a totally arbitrary and incorrect charge rendered to my account by a company that is supposed to be trusted. Do not give them your credit card info. They will charge you randomly and leave it to you to make sure you are going through your credit card statements to catch that and follow up with a bunch of phone calls to get the support that is needed. Which in my case, was not provided. Upon browsing the google reviews, it looks like it is not a rare occurence for grasshopper to charge customer's credit cards randomly. Not to be trusted at all. Read moreGood customer service, but here's a word for the wise: It took two days to hear from Grasshopper Support when I contacted them, then they needed my master pin number in order to go ahead and fix the problem, so don't forget to put that in your initial request for help, because it added another day before they were able to try and help. Also, test the system extensively right away to make sure it will work with your client base. The forwarding system is cumbersome and can be confusing if a call is forwarded to your cell phone and you have to allow it to go to voicemail. Don't just assume it's working like I did. I couldn't figure out why the only calls I received resulted in hang ups. When I tested it by calling myself, the whole process of dialing, hearing my greeting, then hearing hold music, then hearing the system's greeting, then more hold music, then a prompt to leave a message took over one minute. We have now used them for our current business, as well as recommended them to others. Grasshopper is an AMAZING tool that makes running the simplest aspects of your business (like the phones) really easy and a no brainer. The pricing is competitive and we never have any problems. They offer also a really great selection for vanity numbers, and allow you to search before buying. This special feature is one of the reasons we always recommend Grasshopper first before anything else. We love it!
They're also amazing at supporting Small Business and helping entrepreneurs grow. Whether or not we continue to use the service in the future (and I'm sure we will), their dedication to Small Business will ALWAYS make them a favorite for us.
