They started up selling me from when I first sat down, which I didn't mind much even though the things they offered were way overpriced. During my pedicure, I decided to get gel nails instead of a regular manicure. They had an item listed "dip gel." It's not polish; it's more like acrylic nail extensions, but uses a UV gel. Or at least, it should. They had me pick a special polish color, which I thought was because they needed something that would work with gel. They pulled out a powder and told me it was the dip gel. I was confused but let them continue, thinking this must be a different formula than I was used to. When they didn't use the UV machine, I knew something was wrong. They pulled out UV Polish, which I soon realized was the only gel in their "dip gel." I told them I'd rather use the same polish as on my toes. I mean, really, I could accept acrylic instead of gel, but I wouldn't be tricked into ping more for it, or so I thought. Not only did they charge me to increased price for "dip gel," they also charged me 2x the price for french tips. It was almost $100, and they didn't even put a top coat on my toes!! AND less than a week later their special "dip gel" started to pull away from my nails!! I've NEVER had such a bad job done. I has to super glue them back on so I didn't lost my nails into the nailbed. I will NEVER return and suggest only getting the most basic services there if any, and keeping a close eye on exactly what they do. I gave 2 stars because the place did seem clean and the people friendly, even though they were...

It was okay. I arrived early for my 6pm appointment but still had to wait 15 minutes for them to begin my nails at 6:15. I got gelx for the first time and liked it. However the base coat is far too light. You can see where my real nail stops underneath of the extension. I noticed this when she was doing the french tips and pointed out to her it was too light and see through and asked for another coat. She just looked at them but didn’t say anything and continued putting on the tips. Annoying to have paid so much for ugly nails. Otherwise, the shop was fine, normal and clean. Just really disappointed in how my nails turned out.

UPDATE: I am changing my review to 4 stars after seeing the extreme professionalism that Diane, the manager at PS Nails and Spa, exhibited to handle this situation. Within 12 hours of my review, she reached out to me personally and apologized about my results, offered an explanation about why it happened and offered for me to come in for them to fix my nails for free. Unfortunately I am going out of town so I’m not able to come in for them to fix it, but Diane generously agreed to give me a partial refund for the misunderstanding. I should have stood up for myself in the moment and made it clear that I was unhappy and this could’ve been avoided, but even though I didn’t, Diane did everything she could to make it right in the end. Thank you to PS nails for making sure the customer is satisfied even...

The last three times I've gone there, I've had an awful experience. I went in for a mani/ pedi. As soon as I got there, I picked a color and the technician started my pedicure. It was a rushed job. She didn't cut down like I asked her and didn't shape properly. Barely cut my cuticles. Then after she did a terrible job at my pedicure, when she start my manicure she said the nail polish was too thick and I had to pick something else out. I wanted matching toes and nails, like any sane person who paid for a service would want. After picking two other nail polishes, she said it was too thick. I went with a completely different color. She proceeded to start with my manicure, and completely ruined the shape of my nails. After she was done painting them, I asked her to change the color of my toes so it would match my nails and she got upset and annoyed that I would ask her to do such a thing.

The customer service throughout was awful. The friend I went with was offered water, and then I asked my technician if I could have some water and she blatantly ignored my request. When I called the salon back, and told them I was unhappy with my mani/ pedi and would like some refund back. They said all they can do is fix them. However, I have no nails left for them to fix. I don't want another paint job. I'd rather get a refund and never go there again. My suggestion is to not go there because you will be rushed and they won't do a good...

While I was in town visiting family, I needed some self-pampering. After I Googled top-rated nail salons, I found PJ's Nail and journeyed down the Charles River from Cambridge to the Back Bay neighborhood. I had such a great experience at PJ’s Nails on Gloucester Street - thanks to the lovely Anna! She took care of my gel manicure and spa pedicure, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about her. She’s warm, welcoming, and has this infectious energy that instantly puts you at ease. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does, and it shows in the quality of her work. My nails came out beautifully, super clean, polished, and exactly how I wanted them. The spa pedicure was relaxing from start to finish, and Anna paid close attention to every detail without rushing. It felt like a real treat. The salon itself is clean, cozy, and inviting. Prices are totally in line with the area, and honestly, for the level of care and service you get, it feels more than fair. I left feeling pampered and refreshed. Highly recommend booking with Anna, she’s a gem. I’ll definitely be back when I get my air miles in order - LOL. Bless you, Anna!

I’ve been going to PS Nails for about a year for manicures and pedicures. I don’t mind paying a premium when the quality is high, but my last 3–4 visits have been disappointing. On one visit my nails were filed so thin it was painful, and on several others the polish was uneven and the nail shapes were inconsistent. Most recently, I paid $195 for a gel manicure and pedicure with chrome (including a $50 chrome surcharge). The chrome started coming off almost immediately, and two weeks later it’s completely gone on some nails. I travel frequently and get chrome elsewhere without issues, so this was surprising. I raised these concerns during my visits, but nothing was offered to address them. Given the high prices and declining quality, I’ll be going elsewhere. I’ve attached photos for reference.
