Popular choice for early morning coffee and bagel sandwiches on Newbury. Pavement Coffee at this location has become my recent favorite for a quick and satisfying weekend breakfast. The shop buzzes with activity, especially on weekend mornings, and to avoid the usual 20-30 minute wait, I've found that placing a mobile order in advance is a savvy move. All the bagel sandwiches I tried here were great, although they lean towards the pricier side. With the fluffy bagels laying the perfect foundation, their sandwiches come with flavorful topping combinations. The Presto Pesto is my favorite, exploding with the rich flavors of avocado and sun-dried tomato pesto. The Tequilla Sunrise bagel also brings a delightful spicy twist that wakes up my taste buds in the mornings. Their beverages complement the breakfast fare nicely. The iced Matcha Latte strikes the right balance - it’s not overly sweet, yet just enough to overshadow the bitterness of the matcha, which I appreciate. For a sweeter start to the day, the Iced Maple Death Cream was an indulgent choice that didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend giving them a try if you’re looking for a good breakfast options on Newbury, but make sure to order in advance if you want to dodge atrociously long lines in the mornings.

This coffee shop leaves more to be desired. My main issue with this place was that I walked 30 minutes in blistering cold weather to come to this specific location because it said eating/drinking on site was available in Google Maps. When I got there I was amazed to see they had pushed aside all the chairs and had no seating. Listen, I get why you did it and not everyone would be as bummed as I for walking 30 mins for a location where I can read and sip coffee, but please update your site. The coffee lids are also very annoying. They don’t stay pressed up when you open it so you feel like you’re going to spill your coffee. The coffee with almond milk was very good and the bagel and lox was the best I’ve had in 6 months, but the stars aligned and I’m giving you guys a low rating for visibility.

I recently visited this cafe and found it to be a mixed experience. The price for an iced mocha oat milk latte was quite high at $7.50, which felt excessive. The drink itself was a bit disappointing—too much chocolate made it taste more like a chocolate smoothie rather than a balanced mocha latte. While the drink wasn’t terrible, I expected better for nearly $8. On a positive note, the cafe has a charming rustic ambiance and offers a cozy coffeehouse experience. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Overall, while the atmosphere and service were commendable, the drink and its price left something to be desired.

Shockingly low level of awareness of food allergies.

Came in with coworkers and ordered a hot tea, and asked the woman at the register to have whoever made it wash their hands and make sure it was safe because I have a severe nut allergy. She acted like an immature high school bully, gave an expression like it was the craziest thing she had ever heard, and asked me to repeat myself. I did, and she did her rude expression again, and asked me to repeat myself AGAIN. I did, and she laughed in my face, and told me they don’t have any nuts there. I said “you do” and she continued to challenge me until I listed off menu items containing nuts.

Tried contacting customer service about this incident and no one got back to me for months, so a review it is. This shouldn’t be tolerated and is just a reflection of the desperation they must have had to resort to hiring people like this. This place was a go-to for my coworkers and I and we haven’t been since.

Long story short - train your staff to at the very bare minimum to be aware of the seriousness of...
